PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Could someone give me an idea of loadings on QF94 out of LAX on Monday evening 09-Nov-2015 please? I'm wondering if the upgrade angel will tap me on the shoulder to grant me a 45k points J seat (from PE).

Looks very promising: F8 A5 J9 C9 D9 I4 W9 R9 T0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M8 L2 V2 G0 E9
If you are WP or above, it wouldn't surprise me if you get the SMS at T-60.

Thank you very much for the prompt reply, defurax - much appreciated as I'm heading away for the weekend. I'm a mere SG with pretensions of WP by next June with forward bookings. Yes, does look good, I agree. Here's hoping.

Thanks again, defurax, yes my upgrade came through at T-27. However, couldn't do seat allocation online so rang QF - alas, no window seats left, so 16E only available choice. I was advised to see if anything else available once in QC in LAX tomorrow evening.

Good afternoon

Could some one please advise loadings on the 12th November for the following flights

CX104 Melbourne to Hong Kong

and

KA996 Hong Kong to Beijing (Capital International) on the same day.

Many thanks in advance

Thanks to those who provided the loads for me on 21/10 QF15 and 8/11 QF8. My J upgrade came through for the first one approx 24hrs before departure, so this was a nice start to my holiday. For the second flight, nothing was showing in my QFF account 60 mins before departure so wasn't expecting anything (had booked PE anyway, so was happy with that), so got a very nice surprise when I got the 'red beep' when boarding for an upgrade to J on the A380. Had a fantastic time on both flights with the QF crew being fantastic on my first ever Intl flights in J

Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me out with Y-J upgrade probability - SYD/HNL QF3 SYD-HNL on 4th December 2015? I'm QF PS.
Thanks

I have a question about points upgrades. Have some Qantas Y flights in the next week, with some points upgrades requests for longer (Trans-Tasman) sectors.

Received a positive notification that my request was successful 7 and a bit days before my flight from AKL-MEL. EF showed J5 C4 D3 I2 before the upgrade.

But my flight SYD-AKL 3 days earlier has not been notified, though EF shows J7 C6 D3 I0. There's still a couple of days to go.

Any reason why a flight with fewer J fare class spaces would be approved but not the other. I'm guessing it's the I class availability and perhaps a view that with an EK flight following a couple of hours later, the AKL-MEL QF flight wouldn't have much chance of last minute bookings or problems, so quite safe to upgrade me. but any expert view would be greatly appreciated.

The upgrade for the earlier flight came through at T-76 ish. Started showing I availability earlier that day.

Can someone please check something very strange for me.
I am looking at MEL-LAX on Sunday 30th October 2016.
I was hoping to get in early and snag a Classic Award. There is no U or I available at the moment. Decided to check Seat Alerts and It is showing basically the whole aircraft is full and no First seating available.
Does anyone have any idea what is happening?
I was going to wait until next week to book my return flight when the day becomes available.

Thanks.

QF seems to feed some erroneous information on flights which are 355 days away. I recently booked PE on QF to JFK 340 days in advance and the loadings on EF were OK, but the seat map showed a full cabin. Initially I thought this was simply an EF error, but even the QF agent was seeing the full seat map. A few days later the seat map was updated and I was the only PAX in the cabin.

Ok great. Hopefully I can get the MEL-LAX seat released. I would have thought there would be more availability in the 'I' bucket now there is QF 94/95 SYD-SFO and SYD- DFW, but obviously not.

No chance of getting an extra seat released as WP then - I suppose not even for PE on QF127?

How about SYD-MNL loads that day?

No MNL flight that day. The BNE flight to HKG still shows D6. Have you thought of just buying a J ticket? I see oneway fares on GA to SIN, MNL and CGK are between AUD1,500 and AUD2,000 on that day.

So it seems that the "I" bucket doesn't necessarily mean no availability.
I just got MEL-LAX return released for me.
for me when there was no I or U in the fare bucket. Granted, it was October next year, but thought I would note it.

Yes serfty, I believe they both had "D" class.
I have never heard of this bucket. This obviously makes a difference?

D is the RTW (ie. DONEx) bucket. I think if D is available, it suggests the pressure is not too great - but Serfty would be the one to clarify or elaborate.
