Here comes the rain (has hit Fortitude Valley, next to CBD):

512 km composite Brisbane (Mt Stapylton) Radar Loop

Got your floaties out yet amaroo? :D

On a serious note, I hope that our drainage works today - so do my wife and neighbour who came to view our retaining wall last night. Nice to see them showing concern - and he stayed an hour and we got on really well. So maybe not all is lost...

We've clocked up the first 25mm. The heavy stuff won't start until early morning ... the kids have already started lobbying for a day off tomorrow...

ps: good news on the retaining front

We've probably had less than that in BNE. Thankfully, my kids aren't old enough to know about trying that little trick. Well, we haven't met the wife yet....she's away at the moment...

Seriously the cricket is going to be affected.... Time to enclose all our sporting grounds..

Who is with me!

I doubt the Gabba will be playing host on Saturday..maybe a 20/20 match if they are lucky. At least the drainage is good...

Looking at the latest data, Marcia might even make it to category 5 before landfall, and the forecasted track would be closer to BNE than previously thought. The Gabba drainage system certainly has its work cut out for the weekend...

There are some reports it will be Cat 5 when it hits between Mackay and Gladstone early tomorrow morn.

Hope everyone there is taking all precautions. 300kmph winds can mess things up pretty well.

Just sticking my nose in to state the obvious...

Marcia is now cat 5, with winds gusting to 285 km/h. It is now heading south, in the general direction of ROK. This also means that landfall will be later than originally forecasted, allowing it to further increase in strength, so not the best turn of events tonight.

i'm at BNE right now -all flights Harvey Bay - Gladstone -Rockhampton -Mackay etc. ........cancelled
