HI All - I am looking for alternate airfare other than One World Circle Pacific.
I need to travel mel - was - sfo - mel. I was going to get Circle PAcific however I have been told the miles is over 22,000 so the fare is now almost $11K! Do you know of any other fare type such as CX/AA or a UA fare? Or perhaps advise an alternate route to stay within the 22,000. I was doing the following mel - hkg - jfk - was - sfo - lax - mel total 23,140 miles!

I am flexible prefer to stay with one world or star airlines.

Thanks for your help

going via NRT instead of HKG saves miles, as does starting and ending at SYD

do you need to visit LAX on this ticket?

I can't recall if circle pacific requires origin and destination to be same city - if not then something like MEL-NRT-DFW-WAS-SFO-SYD is under 22,000 miles

SYD-NRT-JFK-SFO-SYD is about 21,593 miles
alternatively MEL-NRT-JFK-SFO-SYD

F. TRAVEL MAY ORIGINATE AT ANY POINT FOR WHICH FARES ARE PUBLISHED AND MUST TERMINATE AT THE SAME POINT OR AN INTERMEDIATE POINT IN THE COUNTRY OF ORIGIN. THE POINT OF ORIGIN MAY BE RETRANSITTED ONCE PROVIDING NO STOPOVER IS TAKEN. EXCEPTION

Another possibility is to do something like

MEL-NRT-ORD-SFO-LAX-MEL for 21,439 miles and just buy a cheap r/t for the short flight ORD-LGA-ORD ( and upgrade using upgrade credits if an AA member )
