Feedback on the AFF website & brand refresh

The funny thing is the aesthetics aren’t appealing to many but functionally still working!

Meanwhile recently over on ExpertFlyer world, the aesthetics were an improvement but they broke all the functionality.

Much wailing and gnashing of teeth for those that had paid hard cash.

Feels like Virgin Australia have taken over AFF with a purple overload. Not sure if I'm just getting old or the new font made it much harder to read! Loved the old style so must be missing the negative feedback on why the change was required.

Why are people complaining about the credit card and other stuff stuff? If you just want the benefits of the 'frequent flyer' forum, just bookmark it, as I have (and which auto preserved the old style).

I guess we have to think about whether that landing page from say a Google search of "forums for Australian travelers" is a suitable landing page to encourage them to sign up and post. But maybe that's not the intention of AFF anymore?

People are referring to the actual homepage - which no longer features any news content whatsoever, and is essentially useless compared to how it was previously.

But there's a way to prevent that using a bookmark which is what @RooFlyer has done as have I.

The blog model is easier monetised, so ......

Changed the conversations/alerts text to be actually readable now - please let us know if this is still an issue :)

To my eye the font looks a little stretched so the words look a little closer together and it's not as comfortable to read. Have reverted at least for now. The logo hurts the eye. I wonder if a designer was involved in that part of it.

Yeah, I can’t unsee the upside down Finnair logo now. If it’s meant to represent an aircraft taking off, thats an insane angle.

I mostly just use the forum and I like the blue, purple, light grey colour scheme. The text font could be a bit darker but it's functional.

The change is diabolical IMO, the purple colour especially. 99% of my visiting time is on the forum though and have set to the classic style so don’t really care.
