If 04:30 is too late/early for you then how about 01:55 to 05:50 at Perth? (International to Domestic transfer).

I assume the QC will be open then, or am I dreaming?
I was there last week and it is not fun.

Not sure whether you read my updated post but it will cost ~$25.00 to go by taxi from International to domestic. Take note that domestic terminal opens at 04:00am and Qantas lounge opens 04:15am. If you time it so that you are one of the last people through immigration and customs it should then be around 03:00am so grab a taxi and head to domestic terminal and wait for it to open. Nothing is happening in the international terminal at that time of the morning.

.

$25 for a terminal transfer has got to be one of the great rip-offs in aviation, and I have been informed that a transfer bus will be plying the route after the losers have staggered through C&I. If not then I will cuddle up to my duty-free and pour myself into the first bus that leaves in the morning.

I won't be doing this again in a hurry ....

.

A night in SIN would have been a much better option. ;)

I am not sure what happens or what you have been informed but as far as I am aware the complimentary bus service does not start until 05:00am and it takes around 12 minutes to get to domestic terminal. I think pushing it a little fine for a 05:50am departure.

Yuck! And I thought the 11pm ones were bad!

I've always thought it amazing that BA has three 747's all leaving HKG in a 90 minute period. Add to that Cathay with their late night shuttle as well, and that's a lot of pax.

Also VS in that time.

The redeyes I kept getting are from SIN to north asia, leave around midnight SIN time (4/5am NZ time), short flight and arriving 6am local time next morning. There are also some ugly schedules southeast asia through middle east to europe/africa - late night departure and middle of the night transit in middle east.

19th Feb 21:00ish - HKG
25th Feb 22:00ish - DEL (Not that I expect anyone at that one!)
1st Mar 19:00ish - HKG

21st Feb, 9:30-10:15 SYD International (Flying out on QF135 to NRT)
24th Feb 8:30-9:45 NRT JAL lounge (JL951)
1st Mar, 16:30-19:45 NRT JAL lounge (Flying out on QF022 to SYD)
Long stopover on way back from Seoul

1st Mar, ICN (Seoul,Korea) .... Guess it will be the Cathay lounge around lunch time or just after. JL952

Using Radioman's lead from over on FT, I have created a Calendar that everybody can use to advise the times and dates they will be in QC's. Click on this link and you'll notice it's headed AFF members Qantas Club meetings.

<snip>

Calendar link is a tad flaky, but I got it to work.

In any case,
SYD Intl J, 12~pm - 3pm, on QF73 to SFO. PM me if you're on that flight and you would like a free beer:p
