Re: Farewell QF 81/82 run SYD-ADL-SYD [Sat-Sun Apr 13-14]

Confirmed! QF81 24J (until T-80 anyway). I am a WP so can also guest in the SYD Flounge for others on this historic adventure.

You do realise the only other row forward of 24 is taken…. so back off ;-)

Well unless you want to go to the dark side and sit in the middle section (I think A & B are already taken)

That is of course irrelevant if you plan on burning some points and doing it Skybed style (something I was considering, but need to hoard my points for upgrades on my July LAX flights)

Yes, I am aware that you and JessicaTam beat me to it! But I was thinking of 23G to be sociable.

As for business, QF81 / QF82 is/was a great option for the first/last leg of international JASAs. I can't justify it on a domestic run.

Won't be doing QF82 I'm afraid. However, I am happy to shout drinks in the ADL QP for anyone else arriving on QF81. Yes, yes...I am too generous:rolleyes:

Great work JessicaTam. This will be my first AFF "meet". It's about time I stopped lurking and came out.
Welcome aboard!

Should it be made mandatory that hi-viz vests (and/or shoes) are worn?

Perhaps Red Roo can help with upgrades for AFFs taking this final, sad journey. It could help ease the pain.....

FWIW, T-80 is not as important to WP on "International" segments the 'good' row 23 seat have probably been gazumped.

Re: Farewell QF 81/82 run SYD-ADL-SYD [Sat-Sun Apr 13-14]

Aw, I'm really tempted. A bit of FLounging would be good. And it would be such a relief to meet people who know the difference between FF points and SCs, and who don't call them "status points" or say "why do status points matter?" :p

Thanks for that. It's true that my fellow tragics have taken 23J/K. I could go for 23B, but that would be unsociable. The centre row is showing as blocked, so I'm assuming that will open at T-80?

I have noted your seat change and it will be reflected on the Post #1 table when I ask for it to be updated next.

Thanks straitman for copying the table to the top of the thread.

mmmm...I arrive back from LA on the Sunday at 0610. Can someone remind me what access to flounge WPs have on arrival? Pretty please.

another mmmmmmm: maybe I could get my Syd to Adl flight changed. that'd mean first question is redundant

Where are you landing?

WPs have arrivals access in domestic lounges, because when you arrive into any AU airport you are directed through customs and therefore landslide, unless you are transiting. I which case you will be on another flight and it won't be arrivals access but your regular departure entitlement.

Re: Farewell QF 81/82 run SYD-ADL-SYD [Sat-Sun Apr 13-14]

Until yesterday I was booked to travel BNE-SYD-ADL and then ADL-MEL-BNE on those dates but that booking has now been cancelled.

Not sure what I am doing that weekend but cannot commit to anything until late March by which time airfares will be out of range.

Good luck with the meet and enjoy....

So close, yet so far...

yes, Sydney international arrival...so no flounge access I can now see. Thanks. The only way I reckon it'll work is to get my next leg to Adelaide changed to enable me to participate

Re: Farewell QF 81/82 run SYD-ADL-SYD [Sat-Sun Apr 13-14]

the lovely platinum desk which rang me about something else couldn't find a seat for me on that flight. Sniff. Another so close, but so far moment

Re: Farewell QF 81/82 run SYD-ADL-SYD [Sat-Sun Apr 13-14]

I would love to book this....but who is to say the flights will still be running April 13? What is stopping Qantas from changing its thoughts again and stopping flights on or before March 31, the day QEmirates begins?
