Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

I just saw Clive Palmer on the pool deck at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, heading towards The Club. He was looking fit and healthy actually (for a larger guy).

West Coast Eagles in SYD T2 Virgin Lounge earlier after their win against Greater Western Sydney....

Some I remember the dates for (Sad really!)
July 9th 2011 - Hillary Clinton at Reagan National Airport
November 17th 2011 - I was on the Fairbairn Airforce VIP Terminal steps photographing Julia Gillard and Barack Obama depart in their respective planes on route to Darwin. Shared the lounge with multiple Secret Service agents for several hours while on pool hold was a fun experience, some of them are very well traveled!
March 25th 2012 - Adam Hills (Comedian)

Others I don't remember the date of:
Many years ago I shared a plane with a young boy (He was actually about my age at the time, I have a photo of me with him) on a flight in Bhutan. This boy is thought to be the next Dalai Lama, I can't recall his name.
Countless Federal MPs
Justice Crew (of Australia's Got Talent fame) Syd-Mel, sat next to one of them.
Lara Bingle - Shared a flight from LAX-SYD and she was right behind me in the customs line.

Oh and I suck a recognising celebs so have probably passed a few others in my travels without my knowledge.

Had Dani Minogue and Cheryl Cole in J on a DJ flight PER-MEL (Late Feb I think - I was in 3C). Saw them in the lounge at PER and thought "that little girl looks familiar" - well, she is very small.

Annoying thing was, we had to wait for photos with the pilots in the coughpit before anyone could get off at MEL - "the little people can wait!!"

Interesting paradox.

I don't see why they couldn't wait until everyone else had disembarked to get their 'money shot'.

Approx 7 or 8 years ago landed in PEK and as we were taxiiing to terminal passed a 747 on left side emblazoned down side with UNITES STATES OF AMERICA - immediately remembered George Bush Snr in town representing USA at some conference.

Was staying at Kunlun Hotel in those years - directly opposite where new Westin is in Chaoyang district - opposite Lufthansa Centre other side of 3rd Ring Rd - 500mtrs up road from Hard Rock Cafe and Sheraton Great Wall.

I had a mate from Australia travelling with me this time and we went to Tianjin to a factory one day - returned to Kunlun and agreed to shower and get all lickety split before heading out for dinner - to meet down Lobby Bar on ground fllor at 8pm for drink.

I arrived few mins early - lobby bar is half moon shaped with maybe 20 tables - over half the tables have 1 guy sitting there - some in suits - some in civvys - none drinking - it just looked odd.

My mate arrives - I point out these guys who by now I had noticed had the full earpiece / thin curled wire thing happening in their ears - next thing all Chinese staff in hotel in unison stop work and stand to attention - all these guys sitting at table bounce out of their seats and make a cordon in the lobby - next thing George Bush Snr appears encircled by like 20 security guys as he sweeps through the lobby waving to all Chinese staff and is ushered out front door through now what is evident of hundreds of Chinese secutrity guys to waiting limos.

Unreal experience - absolute military precision - never cited him / them again.

Kunlun hotel! That's where they had an amateur opera hour every night if I remember rightly

I have never heard of him but Matt Hollywood was in 1C on VA SYD-BNE a couple of days ago on Sunday. It would appear the cabin supervisor knew him very well and if I heard correctly he had travelled BNE-NTL-SYD-BNE that day or maybe BNE-NTL//SYD-BNE.

I wonder if he is on AFF!

Luke Mangan and Glenn Robbins on the same VA flight MEL-LAX.

I was standing behind both of them at the LAX customs line (they didnt appear to have any express passes).

Did Glenn do anything funny?

I'd be dissappointed if he didn't - then again, LAX customs aren't known for their sense of humour....

Update on WCE PER-SYD - all players - even those 7ft tall in Y - after take-off Big Coxy, Josh Kennedy and Big Q brought forward to J cabin cause legs too long.

Noticed in flight JK watched movies whole way - Big Coxy played with iPad - Big Q slept.

I asked FA's why no food for WCE players - was it cause just brought forward or maybe dietary reqs by club - no food at all for Big Coxy or Big Q - JK did apperently eat. They said did not ask for food - WCE players down back scoffed nuts / chocolate whatever like it was going out of fashion - go figure.
We were on the same flight! I was 4 or 5 rows back in Y, went to Sydney for the weekend for the Perth Glory final in Gosford.

So I guess I can say I flew with the Eagles too, to put this post more on topic :p

He looked just as tired and frustrated as I did after coming off one of the worlds longest flights. I know people complain about LAX all the time but immigration really was horrible - about 4 flights arriving at once, a weirdly shaped room, utterly disorganised with immigration officials screaming at people for standing in the wrong place or not moving to where they imagined they should stand.

Many moons ago (2005 or 2006) I shared the lounge in Perth with Rod Stewart and his wife Penny Lancaster (as section was cordoned off just for them).

And just last weekend saw the Essendon players flying home from Brisbane airport (not on my flight though).

I've been saving these up for a while, bit it's time to divulge...

How could I forget Don Burke nodding off in the departure lounge at gate 13/14 at Canberra in February last year. He was later seen wide awake on board the Dash 8 to SYD.

Also CBR-SYD, this time travelling in row 3 J on a 734. In row 2 were Ross Garnaut (wrote report into Climate change for fed gov) and his wife. Only worked out who he was when I got a flash of his name on the luggage tag on disembarkation in SYD though. This was in June 2011, so "Garnaut" was still a regular name to be heard or read in the news in relation to the 2011 update of the report which had been recently released.

March 2 this year I was wondering around the Brisbane common user terminal only to see the entire Brisbane Lions team plus entourage awaiting their Alliance charter to Alice Springs for their NAB cup match against Adelaide.

Early last year I flew on the late night ADL-MEL JQ flight with the entire Melbourne Victory team plus cheer squad.

My 10 y/o nephews day was made the Saturday I took him to the airport just to have a look around last year. He was lucky enough to exchange hello's with Garry Ablett as the Gold Coast Sun's arrived for a game in Melbourne. He wants me to take him back one day when the Sun's fly in so he can get GA's autograph.
