Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

Had Seal and his entourage on my DJ flight MEL-OOL on Monday.

Really nice guy, was in 1A but came back and sat with his crew just in front of me in row 3 for quite a while and was very accommodating to requests for autographs.

KRudd descending the escalator at Melbourne yesterday lunchtime. MrsG smiled at him but ignored.

How rude!!

He's probably not used to people smiling at him................................probably worried it might be another woman with a knife in her other hand......

I think while ever they are still MP's they are always focused on saving their jobs! Several years after Mark Latham left office I saw him on a railway station and said hello, he was quite polite and chatted for a few minutes before the train turned up. It was like he had turned off the d'head switch and reverted to 'normal'.

Mark Latham can be a very personable fellow.Back when we were Campaign directors opposed to each other we would always have a chat if we saw each other. The media image of pollies is not always appropriate.

I was on the same flight as our local member of parliament on an early morning flight out of ABX recently, that's about the best I can come up with.

DJ 341 MEL To BNE,Tues17 April 5Pm>Unfortunatley i was on the same flight as the Flavour of the month boyband were travelling.I though something was amiss when i was bumped back from the original seat i booked, taken over by one of the hangers on.Then we had to wait for the precious things to be placed in business class causing a delayed departure which meant we lost our arrival slot into Bne,causing a later arrival. The entourage proceeded to play games childish games all the the flight, including passing the baby around so we could all see who they were or supposedly how important they all were.Even the adult security guards tied up their fellow passengers shoe laces to the floor mounts while they were asleep. If these people are so impotant they should be travelling in a private jet. What a crock of idiots.

The irony is that the band themselves were probably well behaved & minded their own business. It's always the tools in the entourage that carry on like they're the rockstars.

Just as well there wasn't an emergency evacuation. The rockapes masquerading as security people should be fired for that stunt. Just as well there wasn't an emergency evacuation as they're putting peoples' lives in danger which is exactly the opposite of what they supposed to do.

I was in the Qantas First Class Lounge a few years ago and Catherine Zeta-Jones came swanning in, and I mean 'swanning', as if she was royalty, wearing this wrap which flowed behind her and with her little entourage trotting along just a step behind.

Also saw Vanilla Ice at the pizza place downstairs from the Qantas lounges. He was on an Australian tour, RSL clubs I think. No gold or platinum for him, even if he could 'rock the mike like a vandal'.

She tried to sue the media for US$1M re photos of her wedding to Michael Douglas because she thought they made her look "large". The went on to say that it wasn't about the money it was the principle as "a million dollars isn't a lot of money for people like us".

I read an article once where she was getting dressed for a night out in New York when she realised that gasp, she shoes that went with that outfit were in their house in Bermuda.

Saw Hugh Grant at Heathrow back in 2003 when my friend lost control of her luggage trolley and nearly knee-capped him! Was on the same Melbourne-Singapore-London Heathrow flight as HRH Prince William last year. Was handled really well with the entire business class upstairs booked out - nice to know that the first class passengers didn't lose their seats.

Interesting. Surely would have been cheaper to book out all of F rather than J...

Ahh Robert Van Winkle - he wasn't checking out the hook while DJ revolved it? thats why he flies QF.

I've sat next to three footy players tsv-bne (diff. times, of course) whilst in bus. but as I'm not a footy person can't remember their names. Saw KRudd in qc bne. quite a few yrs. ago. Saw a couple of tv actors in bne terminal (again can't remember names, one was Peter something). Sat opp. Mark, journalist on us show, think it's called something report or the journal on sbs on dfw-sea flt. I recognized him while we were waiting for flt. and was hoping we would be seat mates. We were both in first but aisle opp. each other. Seemed a really nice guy, very pleasant as folk recognized him as they entered the plane.

But one person I would love to sit next to would be Clive Robertson. Have no idea what he is doing now but find him fascinating.

I don't keep up much with telly, sports and sports on telly so would hardly recognise any media celebrities... unfortunately that pretty much leaves only politicians.

Simon Crean and Jenny Macklin in row 1 on a 737 on a late CBR-MEL. Apart from the other couple of people in their group the rest of J was empty.
John Howard descending the escalators from the CL at SYD.
Tony Abbott in 5A (must have been a last-minute booking) on a 767 MEL-SYD. Had a lot of well-wishers, this was as opposition leader.
Sat next to Ron Walker in row 1 SYD-MEL.
Andrew Symonds, Michael Clarke and Howard (again) with wife (all separately) at SYD T1 although I wasn't flying at the time.
Neil Perry in 2A SYD-MEL. I was in 3A and saw him leave his boarding pass in the seat pocket - Mr 2B pinched it after Perry got out!

I'm sure I saw Keith Richard outside the Stones Corner Hotel this morning! Hair and face were right, body was slim and he was puffing on a cancer stick. Must have been Keith.

Maybe Neil should check his QF points balance in case Mr 2B tries to thieve 100K out of his account by guessing his pin number.
