Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

In Sydney and Brisbane that is.Besides the league players can play international tests and world cups. Not like the fake match against the Irish that AFL plays.

While they may list these countries, I'd love to see the registered players which for some reason League never seems to release - it would actually be good if they did so we could see if there is growth worldwide for the code.

Call me cynic, but I'm of the view that the NRL says one thing about growth but really all they're wanting to do is protect their golden goose (SOO) as much as they can, when they really should be poring money into the game to prosper outside the Eastern seaboard.

I follow both codes and also love to watch AFL and envy how well their game has grown in all aspects of participation throughout Australia, but we're kidding ourselves that Union is by far the bigger (and quite quickly growing) version worldwide of the oval ball codes - even if the ARU dropped the ball along time ago in Australia.

But all of these codes absolutely pale in comparison to the 'real' football worldwide anyhow (which has and is growing massively in Australia as well) :):)

The OP was centred on the location the game was played competitively, not how many played it ;)

So you got me on a technicality!!:D:D

:p I need all the wins I can get.... Both RL and RU have moved well past their peak, IMO. Will be interesting to see if they survive another generation or two... like cricket they better come up with some clever ways to survive.

Jeff Fenech (I think) in the SYD FLounge now.
He is not as tall as I might have thought he would be.

I have had a run of pollies lately. Michaelia Cash from MEL to PER in J (on the 787, 3C). Simon Birmingham from PER to ADL (737, 1C). Penny Wong from ADL to SYD (737, 3C). I was directly behind the last 2 but refrained from seat kicking :D. Actually Senator Wong was chatty while we waited for the aerobridge, good for her for interacting with the public. The other 2 looked like they just wanted to get away from everyone asap.

Human Nature and Dami Im on Syd-Ool Anzac Day morning flight all in Business I was in 2C and had one of them next to me but not sure of his name. (The older One). All very friendly and chatted with the crew.

Bit of a mixed bag, there. Sounds like two of them may have miscalculated their CL dash. ;)

Have seen Birmingham being very chatty at the luggage carousel in Adelaide. There is only one, after all. Have seen Penny Wong at Burnside shopping centre and everyone pretty much didn’t even realise it was her.

Talking of pollies - a while ago on a CBR-MEL flight Pauline Hansen was in Y and from memory it was in a middle seat no less. It was about row 6 or 7. I was across the aisle She didn't look overly pleased IIRC.

The funniest one was back in 2003 when MrLtL was working in ADL and flying back to CBR every couple of weeks. Natasha Stott Despoja was seated in 1A next to Amanda Vanstone in 1C. Husband said it was quite frosty.

Have just returned from a cruise (not a flight I know!) from Tokyo - Tokyo and fellow guest was Alan Joyce, travelling with his partner and a group of friends. They kept to themselves as groups often do, and didn't seem to interact with others at all.

I sat next to AV coming back from Adelaide a few years ago, she was no longer in parliament, but working a committee looking at government savings. She was in J and boy, did she put away the drinks, from memory rum and cokes, but don’t quote me.
I thought it ironic at the time as she was in J and was advising the then government how cut costs, reduce spending.

In Sydney yesterday I wished good luck to some of the Rugby Union guys going to the under 20 World Cup, I told them to give the Kiwis heaps! Some of them were big boys!
