Expert Flyer now Overlays Seat Maps onto Aerolopa Images

I was checking a seat map this morning and was confronted with a seriously busy output.

After recg from this I realised the seat allocation icons were overlayed onto an Aerolopa image.

For mine, the jury is still out.

Here is the query - it was for economy only but I can get Business at a touch

It's more useful for certain layouts like staggered ones which would otherwise appear as straight grid. I agree it' s a bit busy though. You can unselect "Detailed view" and it'll go back to being a normal grid.

I think they should make this an option for paid as well. Let the user decide.

EF now uses aerolopa for its seat maps. Great change, no need to cross reference now.

Unless you’re in the cheap EF “seats” ie freebie plan. See post #4.

But yes, a positive “enhancement” even though some don’t like it…

I like the new seat maps and also appreciate the ability to simplify it, if you want to. One aspect I used AeroLopa for often was the alignment of windows to your seat: I like having an easy view out and AL also shows you the placement of the wings (in case I fly somewhere potentially worth taking a few photos of from the plane window).

And for the annual premium plans, from $100 USD to $132 USD. The price is starting to get quite steep unless you use it a lot and continuously get good value from it.

Received an email overnight for 30% off the annual cost. Offer expires end of the month. Code is Return30EF

Offer is a bit disingenuous though. The cost increase takes effect 1st April according to the email I received the other day. However, looks like the 30% off is off the new rate so comes in at $92.

So far, the overlay seems to interact well with the seat data extracted from the airlines.

Looks good, but they still have some issues to iron out with some aircraft - for example the QF A380 which shows all seats on the main deck (in row order) and nothing upstairs. Makes for a veeeeeeeery long aircraft!

It'll take some getting used to, but there's a toggle to switch between the decks.
If you are looking at only the one cabin class, then it shouldn't really matter anyway.

Thanks - I tried that but on the flight I was looking at (QF11 on 19/4) it shows no cabins on the upper deck and all 4 on the main deck.

Could be a variant thing, your screenshot shows A380-842 and mine just A380-800.

I thought they only had one variant of the 388… I looked at whatever was on an upcoming QF7
