The other thing you can do is pass your hand between your phone and scanner. That sometimes helps the scanner read the barcode.

The caveat is that e-gift cards are only accepted where there is a Woolworths store. If the store is a Star Mart you can only use a plastic gift card.

[off topic] Those First choice/Liquorland bonus point deals keep on coming, even if they are not used from previous promotions IME.
