Everyday Rewards Targeted Offers

Hang on, are these real AUD dollars or the play money I read about ... spend $50 or more* in one shop, and you'll instantly save $20.

Thanks DrR.

$20 off your shop instantly. So if it comes to a total of $55, you'd need to pay only $35. Instant savings. Not credited to your account for future use. I've had this or a similar offer several times over multiple cards over the past 3 weeks.

Best value from the new Woolies system since it commenced and so much better than QFF points.

Targeted Woolworths Rewards offers. How to get more Woolworths dollars.

Over 15% off (on top of WISH 5%) is a very good discount at a time when supermarkets would expect high sales.

I think they must have lost plenty of customers with the first iteration of $WW

20% off one's shopping sounds like a good discount in theory, although in practice so many like for like items Woolies are still not competitive on.
Just like that Select Cat Food Promo that Woolies were flogging this week, with the unit price being $1.89, and 95c in Woolworthless pesos in return.
Except ALDI sells the same variants of cat food for 79c without the gimmicks.
For Woolies to win back lost customers they need to starting working on their price perception issue and take a step back and look out how Woolworths rewards has become marketing failure number 822 for the company this year amongst all the other oversights.

2016 couldn't come soon enough for Woolworths and pressing the reset button.

Notwithstanding the quality debate (though I will mention my two cats will not go anywhere near Select Cat Food and I'm quite sure that Aldi don't even stock WOW home brands so you can't say you are comparing like for like), I have done a bit of legwork over recent weeks just to check price differences on similar products. A lot of our shopping involves only buying stuff that is on special (WOW just about always has one of the product lines on special) and whilst I acknowledge WOW is still more expensive, it is nowhere near 20% and that's on branded products not home brand lines. On a $200 shop, not uncommon to see savings down the bottom of the receipt of about $80 which I think brings the total very close to what Aldi would have been anyway. At the moment and it might change as WOW and Coles keep substituting their own lines, I am quite happy to pay the small premium to be able to choose a brand on price or quality or preference rather than the single choice offered by Aldi. I like the fact that I have a choice

Also, I did read an article recently that pointed out that Aldi does import more than 3 times as many of it's products from Asia as opposed to similar offerings from WOW and Coles and sorry if I offend anybody, that's not what I want to be buying if I can help it

Wife - $5 Woolworths dollars with $50 spend each week for next 3 weeks

Interesting offer considering wife had offer of $5 Woolworths dollars with $30 spend the past 2 weeks which hasn't been used.

That is an excellent deal. I got $20 off $50, which I was very happy with . And I was chatting to the young guy behind me in the queue who had about $100 worth of Coca-Cola in the trolley for Christmas lunch, and he scanned my rewards card.

Bought some last minute things for Xmas lunch tomorrow. Spent $100 and got $70 off, pretty happy with that :)

They keep sending me spend $70 in one transaction, get W$10.
Problem is, I only have 2 or 3 $70+ single transactions per year.

Today, leaving work, was one of those rare times (xmas shopping).
It looks like the shop earned W$16 and savings of $26.44
W$15 was expected, from the 10% back on selected giftcards offer. No idea where the other W$1 came from.
$4 from yellow ticketed specials
$12.44 from staff discount (knew about the 10% [instead of 5%], didn't know about the extra 5% off on giftcards)

Then $10 off which appears to be from this emailed offer. Though the email said earn W$10 with a $70+ spend, not an instant save and I never activated the offer.

The stars were aligned then!

Found a good way to use WW$ for those that like beer.

Had $10 accrued from a targeted offer which was $10 FOR $70 spend. On the docket from the shop there was an offer to buy 6 of any James Squire beers for $13 (normal price low 20's), scan the barcode from the docket 1st & then your Rewards card & hey presto a 6 pack for $3. That's a win in my books!

Sure....

Now to try and not spend over $10 in a single transaction until they bring back QF points.

If you have multiple cards, spread the love. Slab of Becks for $40 plus $2 ww. Just make sure you get the imported not the Aussie brewed Becks.

I only have 1 card. My old, non EDR/WR branded staff discount card (I refuse to activate the new one as that would deactivate my old/current one).
I don't drink, and I'm not going to waste my money on those in the family that do.

Why would you prefer to use the old one?

Why would you prefer to use the old one?
Principle of the thing. The only real difference between the old "Staff Discount Card" and new "WOW People Card" is that the old card was opt in to EDR, while EDR was forced on people using the new card.
While I did opt into the EDR program, I only did so the day the QFF link happened (I did not link staff card to EDR between program launch and QFF link up and would not have linked to EDR at all if the WOW/QFF agreement never happened).
I refuse to activate the new card because I do not agree with people being forced into a program they may not want, even if I myself was already in said program.

I just checked my Woolworths rewards balance and had a look at QFF points transfers. It appears that QFF points are calculated on the Bold black Subtotal on the receipt, which I mentioned in a previous post when I was observing Woolworths dollars. I received 10 points for my $40 shop recently, even though $10 of Woolworths dollars was taken from the total so I only had to pay $30 (or less depending on how you factor in the discounted giftcards).

The system uses the W$ as a method of payment, not as a reduction in the total cost of the shop. The system sees it as no different as paying in part cash, part card.

Thanks for confirming that. It matches the observations so far but it's nice to hear it from someone behind the scenes. Thanks for your contributions. This feature of Woolworths dollars makes it easier to earn more Woolworths dollars.

No targeted offers so far this week. I am guessing they are taking a short break after Christmas. I don't need much as we are still eating Christmas leftovers and also have plenty of milk and bread.
