Can Anyone Let Me Know If You Need A Tourist Visa For The Following Countries? Czech Republic, hungary, china, austria.as We Will Be Making Short Stays To These Countries ,we Have Australian Passports,

Flying with Us - Before You Travel - Travel Requirements - Visa & Health

This is a page maintained by Qantas advising what travel documents you will require, You may in some cases need to check with the countries embassy. Things are always changing.

The only one i see an issue with (from my memory of last trips) there is China, i believe you will need a visa for China.
Visit or send your passport, money, visa form, and photograph to the Chinese embassy in AU or if in Melb/Syd just drop in if you have the time.

But i believe you can get into China via Hong Kong with the form filled out at the board crossing. (Never concerned me as i always have had year long business visa's for China)

Cant you do a GOOGLE??? I also think that you need an invite for China if doing it privately, or a travel agent booking if not. As you seem inexperienced in finding info in your own capacity, I suspect that you used an agent to do your trips.. let them get your Chinese visa. All the other places do not require one. You might as well gaet one that allows multiple entries to China for a year while you are at it.. its only few extra dollars and if you nee to go again within a year, it saves alot of hassles, some cash, and that valuable page in your frequently used passport !!!!

econgdon,

I find your post a little agressive!

The purpose of the forum is for people to ask advice and that's precisely what THE TRIMMER has done here. An answer more in line with how Evan has posted achieves as much and still helpful without putting people down.

This is why THE TRIMMER is asking for help :!:
... end of rant

China: But no invite required the embassy told me last time, especially for single entry all you need it your itinery, booked tickets.
If you want multi entry, i try to provide, invites and initial itinery etc, as much info as i can, i hate to be rejected. Don't forget photos will be required also, great if you still have the same ones as you used with your passport.

Very strange use ( and non-use) of capital letters!

I tend to agree with econgdon, that the OP's question is one that can be very easily answered by turning to Google. It is more about facts, rather than asking for advice.

Whilst I would agree econgdon could have been a little more diplomatic, I would have to agree that a travel agent or google would be more appropriate places for answers to these questions.

Whilst i'm sure 99% of posters will provide accurate advice, when it comes to something as important as a visa, the consultates website is probably a better place to rely on such information.

I certainly wouldn't want to discourage people posting on the web forum, but just think sometimes there could be better avenues for their questions, especially given something of such gravity as Visa's.

I will go with Straitman's suggestion.
This is a community forum and there is absolutely no need to be agressive and put people down. A bit of tact will go a long way.;)

To All Concerned . I Didn,t Want To Cause A Drama, But If You Don,t Ask You Don,t Find Out .so I Have Had My Question Answered, thank You All.

I posted that after having returned that night on a very bumpy Jstr ride from Hobart which I thought was in the air over Bass Strait considerably longer than the original estimate by the Captain ( I don't think I wiill need to buy any amusement rides for some time) and after cooking some Tasmanian Scollops and a Flounder I purchased at the punts on Costitution Dk a few hours beforehand and nearing the bottom of a nice Penfolds.. I am quite prepared to accept that i could have been a bit gruff.
Though in subsequently reading my reply and the poster's subsequent reply, I feel it was quite helpful for a novice who was asking about info for this area of former East European States, as I assumed the person was. ( I have just about the last ever Visa issued to an Aussie by the Czek Republic, which I never used, to go to Bruno from Wien to buy some lovely crystal glasses after they were accepted into the EU) and I stand to be corrected as always .. G.d exists in the mind of others, not mine.
