Etihad Guest status match for Australian residents [improved offer as of 22/11/24]

I am really annoyed. I paid the USD$79 for a status match from Virgin (Platinum) to Etihad Gold. They actioned it to silver on application, not Gold, and I have been emailing them for over 6 weeks with no further action.

I'm now sitting at Melbourne Airport at 3am with no lounge access I really should have. Super annoyed and will not be letting this drop.

Not a great way to start my migration from Virgin to Etihad either!

Oh Etihad can’t help at all, status match people just reply to every email politely but nothing changes.

I have - fingers crossed resolved swiftly and kicking myself for not posting here earlier!!

Just a quick note to say that I have now been upgraded successfully to Gold. Obviously missed on bonus miles on my recent flight/s (which would have been 5000 miles, so not nothing), but happy enough to just have the situation resolved. Thanks to Mark @ Status Match for sorting it out for me.
