Emirates to Dubai experiences

In this day and age where people can book on the websites of overseas airlines without having to reside in those countries, there are just so many options with both award travel and regular airfares that you can simply construct your itinerary made up of a combination of the above.

It's not a dealbreaker if the one airline doesn't go all the way from Australia to Europe yet a lot of Australians have that 'meat & 3 veg' attitude of expecting their airline of choice to take them to their chosen country of choice with a stopover at the city of choice eg SIN.

I'm tired of hearing all the whinging about 'not being able to go via SIN to Europe' anymore waaaaaaaaaaaa or rather not wanting to go via DXB because it's something new & they're creatures of habit. If you love SIN so much just book a return ticket ex Aust to SIN then a return ticket ex SIN to your final destination - problem solved.
that's what I did for unplanned trip to the uk on a poor man's budget. Jetstar Perth to Singapore return and Qatar from Singapore - London return.

There is a difference between what people would like VS what they are spending their money on,

I was more remembering that survey on fairfax. My recollect was the question asked did not support the conclusion that people wanted to transit in SIN. The figures you've provided demonstrate they don't want to transit in sin.

So my doubts about the conclusion draw from that survey seem to be supported by the numbers. :?:

With Virgin working with Singapore and Virgin Atlantic, and me with half a million points on VA I cannot see me using their services. I can only see the VA Singapore alliance growing over time. Plus we found the flight to Dubai just too long a run to be comfortable. To me Dubai is just not a comfortable place to visit, last week it was winter to them and the daily temps were around 43 each day, let alone summer temps!

It is hot in Singapore and Bangkok etc but at least you can get about1

I had no idea posting on here would be so pedantic. Sorry I had not checked the stats I was only going on the comments of the people of Dubai last week, I genuinely though the UAE was above the equator?? As we are ourselves moving into the summer period, they should I think be moving into their winter period?? Hence their comments to me last week.

I think I might logout now, I have better things to do than argue with you lot!

Going by your logic of north v south, haven't we just finished our winter season?

Yes my friend, we have had our winter, it is now spring with summer ahead, the last I heard.

Dubai is north of the Equator they have just had summer, it is their autumn and they are moving into their winter.

not sure what the issue is?

Calling a place in Winter when its actually Summer is hardly perdantic, and of interest to those that travel frequently in terms of knowing what to expect, equatorial locales often buck the normal seasonal definitions as well.
