Could someone please remind me of the time of day and 'days out' that award seats on Emirates get released by Qantas? Are they pretty consistent or do sometimes seats not get released on particular days?

Can Plats & above ask for the release of EK seats, as they can with Qantas?

QF does not have any control over EK inventory so no you can't request "special" release of award seats as a Platinum or above for EK operated (or any other non QF metal) flights

It's not entirely consistent, but Emirates tends to release award seats to inventory around 330 days before departure.

There are blackout dates, however, so not every flight will have award seats released at this time.

To answer my own question, for me it was 334 days prior.about 9am.

On 14 Sept, the seats became available for 14 August next year. Over the past few days the seats have been available advancing 1 day at a time.

and getting closer to a date, do you know when extra seats on Emirates flights are released for QFF redemptions?

Hi guys - just trying to get some (5!) seats on EK, using QFF points, to a destination that requires an assisted booking. The QF CS team sees EK availability 353 (or thereabouts) days out. QF is going to waive the fee in this case, however if you're really keen on a seat in the premium cabin on a premium route, might be worth ponying up those extra points to get in earlier.
As with all things - YMMV depending on cabin, route and status.
