EK Lounge Access in DXB

Not sure if this question belongs here or elsewhere.

Flying out of LHR tonight on BA in J to DXB. Then a connecting flight in J out of DXB on EK to SYD.
We have a 13 hour daytime layover in Dubai which we intend to spend having a look at the city. Obviously will have access to the EK lounge before the ongoing flight but I'm wondering if we can access either a BA arrivals lounge in DXB or the EK lounge early.
We want to have a shower and a change of clothes to prepare for the heat so only need about 30 minutes.

I also have Priority Pass membership but havent yet looked into that yet.

I don't think there is an arrivals lounge as such but from memory incoming passengers are not segregated from outgoing passengers in DXB so you should have no problem accessing the EK lounge when you arrive and then leaving the airport to see the city. It's not as difficult as in HKG for example! But worth confirming when you arrive!

@ramboflyer Arrivals and departures at DXB are separated. With a transit, passengers need to pass though Transit Security to access departures.

Assuming the one booking and bags checked through, it should be possible to exit arrivals and go landside, then come back later.

I am not sure it is possible to easily use transit security to use a Business lounge before going landside to come back later.

Note that DXB is LARGE and there are at least three business lounges you would have access to.

You may get more information on the Emirates Flyertalk forum.

We flew to DXB on BA so arrived at Terminal 1. On checking in with BA at LHR was told bags couldn't be checked through to SYD because of a lack of an arrangement between BA and EK despite all flights on the one booking. (we also had to collect baggage in SYD because HBA has no customs).
From Terminal 1 I rang Emirates and they said I could check in within 24 hours of flight so we took a taxi to Terminal 3 and did that. Lounges can be accessed within 8 hours of your flight but we had found a way to change clothes at Terminal 1 so didnt need the lounge. After leaving our carry on bags at "Left Luggage" we took the train into Dubai.
On returning later that day we went to the EK business lounge which I am continually impressed by. So much better than the BA Galleria lounge at LHR in so many ways.

Indeed - looking at ExpertFlyer this is indeed the case.

Which terminal did you depart from - EK have 3 Business lounges at DXB.

Departed Terminal 3. The lounge takes up the whole floor. On the outward journey we had a 2 hour stopover on the way to Spain and visited the same lounge and departed directly from there. Very impressive.

I should have asked which of the four Terminal 3 Concourses.

A, B, C or D? ... DXB is BIG! :)

Yes, DXB is huge! Pretty sure we took the rail transfer to concourse B. Confirmed by the fact there was a Costa coffee bar in the lounge. ☕
