EK flight seat selection and experience

Coo, Pushka.
Can you imagine if that sticks and you both do get to keep those 4 seats in the middle row.
Envious eyes and people will be asking, what did you do to get those?
Hopefully you make it/get to keep them 4.
I liked the EK service, spirits/wines are us.
Surprising that they (flight attendants) keep trying to pour out wines/spirits at all chances on the flight to go with the meal.
On my 3.5hrs flight MEL/SYD - AKL/CHC, I must have been asked many times if I wanted a top up, and I don't drink all that much, really.
Will miss the EK service, back to QF Au - NZ for me.

Often QF 'speaks with forked tongue' these days - What does EK say?
EK is fine. And the seats I want. These are what show up in Finnair too. Just Qantas is up the duff!

Has anyone ever been able to select middle seats in F on EK, seems as though all of them are blocked because they're allocated as bassinet seats.

(I'm more of a window fan, but Mrs Rock insists that we should be sitting side-by-side :p:p)

I’m with you unless it’s a totally daytime flight and no need for sleep. On my booking I can see all the bassinet seats (only J in Adelaide now) but you can still book them. Having said that, our flight is a nighttime flight but I don’t want to have to crawl over “someone” to get to the bathroom during the night. What could possibly go wrong.

Just got back from DXB-SYD in Y with the family on EK. In flight experience OK but nothing special. The ICE entertainment is very good though. Zero recognition / acknowledgement of QF WP status other than being given a fast track arrivals card.
There seems to have been a recent change in access arrangements to the lounges in DXB though - I was allowed into the F lounge with wife and 2 kids, whereas I’m sure on previous trips EK has counted the kids as guests and knocked us back. Not sure when the change occurred.
We flew out to LHR via SIN on QF and back via DXB on EK. Overall our QF experience was probably better but not much in it to be honest.

Just to add to the above, QF flights were helped by being in 32/33 A&B in the mini Y cabin. On our EK flights we were 4 across the middle at the back of the front Y section.

I’ve never had a problem selecting middle seats on EK in F.

Ah ok, that is weird then.

Maybe its just too far out (295 days) and they're holding them just in case they are sold?
I’m having issues on QR and as it was an award it has been suggested it’s because both travelling people have the same QFF number attached. I can’t seem to change that. Might have to call QR I guess but maybe that’s your issue?

This pretty much mirrors my trip but EK on the outbound and QF on the return in 32A. Spent some time researching if 32 was going to be bearable but as I am quite short and value not having someone recline in front of me I am going to risk it.

I also have 4 seats show up but these, for me, represent the seats EK put me in by default and the seats I chose on the EK site.

Before my daughter was 2 years old I used to call EK to ensure we had the bassinet allocated.

First booking after she turned 2 years old we had the 3 of us sitting together somewhere near the front of economy.

No reason to disturb the flow but I'll keep checking seat allocations for future bookings.
