EDR Targeted Bonus Point Promotions

I think Woolies cost per point may be in the vicinity of 1.1 cents plus GST so that would have been pretty costly to try buying sales from our forum members.

If WW sold points at 1.1 cents I think I would interested in purchasing them directly off QF.

Supermarkets have relative lean margins, however WW and Coles have been continually growing revenues and profits so if WW is denying me bonus points because we collectively outsmarted the game, then I can always take my business elsewhere!

Funny, because 1.1c/pt is what I was effectively getting back when.. yes, the game has dried up here too but always greener things to move onto. I would disagree that they have lean margins though, at least I imagine so.

The GST on a 1.1 cent cost per point would be about 5% rate instead of the full 10% rate as a lot of QF points are used for overseas travel which is GST exempt.
Woolies get the GST back but consumers pay.
Perhaps the points from purchases was way too expensive for Woolies as they only net around 3 cents in the dollar in a very good year.

Supermarkets in other countries generally only make 1c on the dollar whereas WW has for a while made 3c on the dollar and is the envy of the overseas competitors.

I got the WOW Gold products tiered offer (for which I activated) and Mrs LW got a Dan Murphy offer which I haven't triggered.

I'll check out the products and see what are the cheapest products, before deciding whether to pull the trigger. As I get points and average 50 litres per fill, I can get 250 "bonus" points that way.

I had been overseas for 6 weeks. Came home 4 weeks ago and the only offer I have had so far is the spend $100 over 3 weeks for a $20 card.
I have shopped each week since at Woolies but have not received any other offers. Nothing.
Also shopped at BWS last week hopping to trigger some action there.
Feeling neglected. And previously if I did get an offer sometimes it came through as late as Tuesday.
I must be bottom of the list.

No, ellen10, we are all at the bottom of their lists. They have either changed marketing director, company or strategy (or all 3).

Our spending has gone up at our local IGA (500m from home) and now only doing the staples shop every 3 weeks which has decreased in spend. Getting 100 QFF points for every shop (4c vouchers converted to 2x QFF spend by average 50 litres), so a lot of them are being lost.

Yes Lindsay. It has all changed.
I even rang up Flybuys and got them to resend my card. I had previously thrown it in the bin when it first arrived thinking I didn't need another program to mess with my head. But things change. I had got use to shopping at Woolies, knew where most things were, but by changing the points promotions so drastically I think they have really put a lot of people offside!
Strange marketing.

Hmmm, maybe I should sign up for a FlyBuys card - threw my original out 5 years ago after cashing in the few points I had accrued.

Have to agree, was very comfortable with my 2 local WOW's - could steam around the aisles knowing where everything was shelved (Select and Macros in particular ;)). They have to have seen the drop off in my CC spend - $, number of trips etc.

I wonder if this will work if your EDR card wasn't targeted?

No offers on any of my accounts again this week

I have started shopping elsewhere, Coles/IGA, the local fruit/veg shop etc etc

Even Aldi gets a visit if they are not too busy!

Seems to, and the prices appear to be better than shown....

$50.50 per bottle for the Bollinger (including $7 del charge )

Hmm, very very tempting - I should really stop buying wine faster than I can drink it, but that's rather good for AU.

Also have 2 Cellarmasters offers

Haven't shopped at WW for more than a month now, no points offers or even fuel offers for ages now.
Oh well happy with my local Coles now, much closer and cheaper anyway.

One of our happy shoppers got a "$5 off when spending $50 or more". Single use, one transaction. I was very impressed when the $5 disappeared off the total after the card was waved under the scanner.
Still most of the family shopping this week will be done at Coles. Mrs N is getting into the swing of things and cashed in 1000 FB points for "whatever you get off plus another 10c off" petrol offers. Timing nicely with 3 emptying tanks. The plan will come together if it all ties in with the next downswing in fuel prices

yes buying wine faster than it can be drunk is a problem here too. I am working on it

My $20 Christmas voucher was confirmed today. I wasn't that fussed by the voucher. But SWMBO got the offer, realised we spend $300 a week anyway and Woolworths is our nearest shop. So it was a nobrainer as $40 will get us the pork and other baking meat for Christmas.
