$200 for 1,000

Easy peasy...

1,323 points in the bag. Apparently our collection of goods was discounted by $67.75...plenty of "displayed" discounts, not sure how many are legitimate. I'm sure the note on the receipt reels a few in.

Grocery shopping is a little different when you're only shopping for 1 person instead of 3 or 4. I get that you're saying the people who spend more (shopping for a family) should be rewarded. Of course. But the targets to entice someone like me to spend have to be achievable or I'll just go elsewhere and get better food for less.
That is not what I am saying.

A person who spends more every week should be able to easily achieve a higher targetted spend occasionally as they buy more items.

If you spend $50/week then your offer should be spend $80/$120 for bonus points.

If you spend $100/week then your offer should be spend $120/$160 not spend $80/$120.

If you spend $150/week then your offer should be spend $200+.

If you spend more then $200/week then your offer should be $275+.

Not sure where the spend $30 and earn 250 bonus points fits is as that one crops up quite a lot.

Not arguing with that at all. In fact $80 isn't too much of a stretch, but it is more than I would normally spend. $120 is entirely ridiculous though.

However, as someone who pretty much shops for one, I don't get to game the system by signing up all my family members and picking the best offer that week to scoop all the points into my account.

That's exactly it. I spend around $60, so an offer of $120+ is far too high so I won't bother to spend more. Make it reasonable like $80 and I'm more likely to bite.

Brother - 250 bonus points for $30 spend Monday - Thursday this week

Interesting offer which I don't think I have seen before.

Interesting offer which I don't think I have seen before.

I can't figure out the 250 points for $30 either but I'll happily take them when offered. I've seen them offered on accounts that only spend that amount per week or less but I've also had it on my account even though I'll usually spend $50 per visit when there is a good offer available. I think some of it is the luck of the draw. One of the family members has the $30/250 this week but a last week got an offer of $80/500 points which we ignored.

A friend of mine who always spends between $50 and $100 a week at WW has never received one of the $30/250 offers. She usually gets the double points offers or the $120/500 points offers, most of which she can't use due to timing and other issues.

I don't think the $30/250 offers are a we miss you offer as I've got them on accounts which have been used recently.

Sounds like you 2 may have to think about combining your shopping.

It is easy to say I game the system with 4 accounts but that is not right. Most times only 1 card gets used/week so a lot of the offers are incentives to use that card again. My parents exclusively use Woolworths. Not Coles. No interest in Flybuys.

There are 2 of you. Use that to your advantage.

That forces each of them to decide who gets the points. :)
The offers will alternate as each account is not used for a period of time.

And if they really want to keep a running tally they can transfer points back and forth a few times a year.

Yes, 1 card a week. I understand that's why you constantly get "easy" offers. And would I be right that your mum carries all four cards? It's quite simply gaming the system (not saying that I couldn't and many others don't). Maybe I should sign up my mum, dad, and brother to EDR and QFF (they all live overseas) and start reaping the rewards?

And yes, we sometimes shop together and occasionally combine to hit a target, but it's not always possible.

Why should we combine our shopping to receive benefits? We're separate people with our own budgets and points goals.

Accentuated benefits for individuals through collective tactics are the basis of syndicates, cartels, alliances and unions.

That said, there's a point either way (pun intended). :)

You can still split the points. Share them evenly if you wish. Keep a separate tally if you wish. And by doing that you negate the $30 minimum spend on one card and will earn 30 QFF points more per week.

Only trying help.

Which then puts the spend hurdles up further. That's not a winner for me.

SydneySwan junior just received this offer - for $10 OFF, place 3 orders of $150 or more between 16th July and 5th August 2014*

Not very generous since we rarely spend more than $100 in a shop at Woollies so doubt we will bother.

Other than that only one spend $50 for 300 points in the last 2 weeks across 4 cards.
