Hi, I did post this in the New Qantas 747-400 3 Class Fitout thread where all but one post related to J or F seating. I didn't receive a response so am reposting on a stand alone basis.
I have just booked QF108 (ex-LAX) in economy for next September. Any thoughts on 60K & H in terms of leg room. Is it a normal bulkhead or does it have a cutout? Having extremely long legs,I find normal bulkhead excruciatingly painful, however find the cutouts work really well. I've put in an EF alert for row 43 but I'm sure these won't be released to Gold until much closer to the date. Another possibility is the twos in the back. Have any tall people tried these.

I'm not sure many here know about row 60 and cutouts on this aircraft.

Maybe someone can have a look next time they fly one.

60 doesn't have a cut out.
I'd avoid.

There's a thread somewhere around that discusses this.
It's the one I posted a photo of the 43K cutout.

Thanks Dodgeyhack, I'll change my seats to the back twosomes and hope I get in the front row at T-80 (or pay for exit row). Doing a 140 award so can't request an upgrade.

I have a few questions about this layout too. Been on it a few times but aircraft layouts are lost on me - have trouble keeping track.

This is the layout: SeatGuru Seat Map Qantas Boeing 747-400GE (744)

I have 43A available to choose from but seat guru says it doesn't recline as much - it's also overwing which I generally avoid because I like the view - thoughts?

What about row 56? Is it as bad as seat guru makes out? Might be too close to the door-slammers.

And on the two-seaters at the back, I can't remember if these are in a straight line (and therefore progressively offset from the fuselage) or if they hug the fuselage? I've seen both but can't remember what QF runs on this. I don't like the straight-line two-seaters as you don't have a wall to lean against.

Was hoping for a shadow in any case but no luck this time (according to EF) - it's such a lottery - there doesn't seem to be any pattern!

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

The two sweaters are in a row, so offset progressively declines.

As mentioned by others and I have personally witnessed.

Row 43 has cut-out and is very comfortable.

Row 60 does not have cut-out and looks uncomfortable. Still a bulkhead though and if row 43 was not available I would rather a bulkhead than risk a chronic recliner.

Yes definitely no cut out at row 60 but the legroom is still slightly better than a standard row and I personally always choose it over a regular seat as it feels far less squished.

Unfortunately I can't handle not being able to stretch my legs which I can somewhat do in a standard seat. I stupidly booked an exit row on a 767 SYD-MEL which turned out to be behind a bulk head. I was in agony two thirds of the flight through.
