Couldn't see this has been posted already.

Seems ebay (acting unilaterally?) is removing QF Club passes from sale as they violate ebay's terms and conditions on club access passes.

Qantas lounge passes: eBay bans sales

Qantas says passes can be given to family and friends.

I can understand if they were trying to clamp down on illegal Qantas Club passes but one should be able to sell valid Qantas Club passes.

Not that different to gifting to friends and it costs Qantas nothing.

I don't see why you should be able to 'sell' lounge passes. Gifting is fine but selling crosses the line. IMHO.

Agreed. Nobody pays for lounge passes. They are handed out by credit card companies or by QF themselves for free. I recently handed off 4 J lounge passes to family since we couldn't use them before expiry.

This is something that has been going on for years. They will go through for quite a while, & then suddenly they will all be pulled. Usually lasts for a few weeks, & then relaxes again. I suspect that it is on the insistence of Qantas rather than anything specific to eBay. If you see passes for sale on eBay & want them, email the seller and ask them to contact you directly if they are pulled.

Buying and selling outside of the eBay system is technically not allowed by eBay policy either. :p

But they are not valid. Not for that use anyway.

ie MCC cracks down on members allowing others to use their memberships.

I would imagine that these passes would have a certain wastage, but that selling of the passes would decrease this. If so it would cost Qantas $.

clamping down on QC passes, but the first item on the list today is the sale of 50K QFFF points (for $1000).

those too would be against the terms and conditions, so I wonder why those aren't automatically removed from sale, but QC passes are.

Anyway - with all the passes removed from sale we're back to watching the exciting sales by florentine... amenity kits for $200 and the like. I wonder if he/she ever gets those prices?

I gave a QC annual free pass to my daughter to use in Brisbane on her way from PER to Vancouver.

Got it told the lounge was too full and go away for her 6 hour stop over!!

At PER when heading to DPS last March with JetStar, was with my son and his mate for the 11.00 am ish flight. I had my QC. Membership so could take in my son + freebie entry with pass for son's mate. Club lounge was closed as they don't bother opening it for that flight.

No no compensation at either occasion which strains your loyalty index.

Conclusion: buyer beware

Clearly the clamping down is because Qantas Clubs are overcrowded ;)

Oh dear. You've said it

Wait for the email: responding to customer feedback on crowding, QC passes will no longer be issued to those attaining silver status.
