Easy 10,000 QF points earn

T&Cs are a bit confusing. To me it seems you will only get 5k points after making 2 orders. And you only become eligible for the next 5k after making your 10th order. Then you get another 5k at the end? To be honest I find Hello Fresh vastly overpriced for what it is.

How is it confusing?

The page says this

5,000 points on the first box and $25 off, 5,000 points on the second and $25 off and 5,000 points on the 10th box.

The T&Cs say this

You’ll receive $25 off your first box order plus 5,000 bonus Qantas Points on your first box order. ...
You’ll receive $25 off your second box order plus 5,000 bonus Qantas Points will be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account within 60 days of your second order.
5,000 bonus Qantas Points will be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account within 60 days of your tenth order

I think the issue is if you read the T&Cs out of context, in particular this:

Members must receive their tenth box within 20 weeks of receiving their first box for the offer to be valid

You can interpret that as a requirement to get any of the points. Contextually however it is exactly as above, each offer has it's own term associated with it.

Happy to be corrected that it is different in Australia, but I did some work with HF in the UK and there they will continually call you to try win you back after you cancel.

They will call again - even if you say 'no thanks'

What you need to say is - "No thanks and please remove me from your calling list"

I was called once and gave an excuse. To their credit they did not call me again but they did twice now send me a plastic discount card which I think is quite wasteful. I may have thrown them out already but perhaps I kept them due to feeling bad about the wasted plastic. I wonder if it would stack with this deal? ;)

Edit: Looks like I am excluded :(

I've used Hello Fresh before (when I was super busy) and it's a good service......

I was just studying their site for the first time. I see in their menus such things as "1/2 lime" - does this mean they send you half a lime??? Or as the menu is for two people, do they send a whole lime?

It is multiplied by the number of people. So 1 lime for a 2 person package, or 2 for 4 people (family package). Sometimes you get a bit extra of something simply because it is more appropriate - eg 2 whole limes instead of 2 x 2/3.

Update: so I contacted customer support via email and got a different response this time. Looks like this offer is not a goer unless you do all 10 boxes for the 15,000 points.

Clearly they don’t understand their own T&C!

I asked them what would happen if I cancelled between week 3 and 9 and didn’t get to 10 boxes.

CS Reponse:

It would be best to pause your subscription between weeks 3 - 9 if your going oversees over that period of the subscription.

Cancellation may result in voiding the offer of 15000 Qantas points before reaching 10 full orders.

In order to ensure you receive the 15000 Qantas points I would suggest that you continue with the subscription for 10 orders they don't have to be consecutive you can pause at any time.

Alternatively as I mentioned that cancellation will void the voucher because it is based on 10 full orders as per the T&C of this particular subscription.

I hope this has helped.

Please advise if you require further assistance.

Kind regards,

And then if pausing, presumably this T&C comes into play : Members must receive their tenth box within 20 weeks of receiving their first box for the offer to be valid.

They are being careful how they word their response. See:

Cancellation may result in voiding the offer of 15000 Qantas points before reaching 10 full orders.

Of course that is true, as you'd only be getting 10000 Qantas points, not 15000 :)

BTW just a point of reference for everyone, this same offer was held roughly the same time last year, however the offer was 8K per week. I ended up with 16K points after pausing my subscription permanently from week 3 onwards.

Hi there, can you please clarify the T&C on this offer: HelloFresh - Online Grocery Shopping Deals | Qantas Wellbeing

MicoJan 9, 2019, 4:50pm
Hello GH, thanks for getting in touch with HelloFresh! My name is Mico, how may I help you today?

GH Jan 9, 2019, 4:51pm
I am confused as to whether you get 5,000 Qantas points after week one and then 5000 points after week 2, but if you don't subscribe for 10 weeks, is the offer not valid?

MicoJan 9, 2019, 4:52pm
No worries, checking on it right now!

GH Jan 9, 2019, 4:52pm
Thank you

MicoJan 9, 2019, 4:57pm
Alright, once you use that code from Qantas, the 1st box you will have 5,000 points on your Qantas Frequent Flyer account, then if you will not cancel the subscription with us, the 2nd box will earn another 5,000 points on the 2nd box and another 5,000 points on your 10th box. All 3 delivery also gives you 25% off the box's cost.

GH Jan 9, 2019, 4:58pm
ok, I think I understand. So if I cancel after 1 box, I get 5,000 QF points. But if I cancel after 2 boxes and before 10, there are no additional points?

MicoJan 9, 2019, 4:59pm
Yes, that is correct so its 5,000 points and 25% off the box cost

GH Jan 9, 2019, 5:00pm
Ok, so to get the other 10,000 points, I have to subscribe until at least 10 boxes

In the T&C it says: "Members must receive their tenth box within 20 weeks of receiving their first box for the offer to be valid:, which seems to read you have to order 10 boxes within 20 weeks or the whole offer is not valid.

MicoJan 9, 2019, 5:01pm
yes you to reach 10 boxes to complete the points

GH Jan 9, 2019, 5:02pm
OK. So I'll still get 5,000 points if I don't get to 10 boxes.

I'm asking because I am heading overseas soon so not sure I'll get 10 boxes within 20 weeks.

MicoJan 9, 2019, 5:02pm
yes that's for the 1st box

GH Jan 9, 2019, 5:02pm
ok thanks for your help.

MicoJan 9, 2019, 5:02pm
most welcome, take care, bye!

I have ordered my first box for delivery next Tuesday 15 Jan , couldn't get $50 off first box referral as they only allow to put one code in . I will report back if the first 5000 points arrived after the first meal box . To play with caution i will pause the 2nd box until i have received the first 5000 points .

Maybe it's confusing because multiple people have been confused....

Got my first box and cooked meal last night. Was actually really nice for a vego meal. Going to get next week then pause and see if any points get applied.

So here’s the latest CS update on the HF points

tl;dr

You will get 10,000 QFF points if you subscribe to the first 2 boxes and then cancel.

CS email:

Good Afternoon,

Thanks for your email and apologies for the delay in response!

I have just had a chance to investigate this with my team leaders and can confirm that once you receive 2 boxes you will received 10,000 Qantas points. If you stay on and receive 10 boxes you will then also received a further 5,00 bringing it up to 15,000 total points gained.

I can see here that you have now had one box and the next box is due to arrive this coming Saturday. One this has passed I can see here that the delivery for the 26th has been paused so that it does not continue to the third week. If you then do not wish to have anymore deliveries you will need to cancel your subscription in your online account. I can confirm that after this Saturday you will receive 10,000 Qantas points however this can take approximately 60 days to get to your Frequent Flyer account.

I hope this is helpful. If there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know!

Kind Regards,
