Hi all,

Little unclear to me what I might earn on the following.

Flight booked on the QF website for PER to BKK. via SIN. PER to SIN on QF metal and then 3K from SIN to BKK. I see the following two options.

The earning calculator tells me I'd earn 15 SCs on this as a discount Y fare. I presume that's correct given the QF flight number?

What would the earn rate be if one selected the 3K flight number?

The table below suggests the lowest 3K fare is going to be "starter plus" which will earn at the economy rate according to the earning calculator and net 15 SC. However below the table it states

Qantas Points and Status Credits are not earned when travelling in the Economy Cabin on flights with a Jetstar (JQ), Jetstar Asia (3K), Jetstar Japan (GK) or Jetstar Pacific (BL) flight number as part of a Qantas International fare or when a Jetstar flight voucher has been selected in lieu of Points and Status Credits.

Which implies forget everything else, no points for you if you're connecting to this flight from a QF flight.

Given the cost of the code share is identical, I presume that's the safe bet to earn 15 SC if one needed this flight, correct?

Thanks

Yikes. Have I asked a really dumb question that it doesn't dignify a response or is this as confusing to everyone as it is to me?

As the cricket chirp, so far no reply from the others, maybe indeed its that complicated, or no one has done this trip as per what you are booked.
BUT for next time, I know, for you the fare would probably be higher, but next time, OR if I needed to go up there, I would go QF to SIN one fare, and then go 3K on a bundle fare, paying for Qpoints and QF SC.
OR if I wanted plush, I would go by road over to JB, and do JHB to KUL with MH in J, and then J again KUL - BKK, seeing how cheap the MYR/RM conversion to AUD is.

Nothing booked as yet so I'm still interested in an answer.

Will be travelling for work, so not interested in dealing with separate tickets and hassles if I miss a connection. Looks like for the return there is a CX flight from BKK to SIN which lines up nicely with QF72.

Honestly don't know the answer to this but I suspect if you book the 3K flight you get nothing (as per the quoted "Qantas Points and Status Credits are not earned when travelling in the Economy Cabin on flights with a ... Jetstar Asia (3K) ... flight number as part of a Qantas International fare or when a Jetstar flight voucher has been selected in lieu of Points and Status Credits.") but if you book the QF flight number (even though it's on 3K metal) you should get the points, because it's a QF flight number not a 3K flight number. That's how I read it.

Well according to the QF online chat folks, QF5313 will earn 15 SCs.

Edit: @moderators how do I mark this thread as answered now?
