The post which you referenced (OzEire;1350884) and to which I subsequently responded discussed entering on your dual passport and if consular assistance would be provided if required.
Consular staff have no idea how you enter the (foreign) country. If you seek assistance at an Australian embassy, and your hold Australian citizenship, then it will be provided.

Granted, if you are a citizen/resident of the country, then why go to the Embassy? Chances are you would get more help by going to the local authorities. But your right to seek consular help remains (and is useful if the authorities are the problem).

You have now changed the goalposts, saying you are entering on an Aussie Pp.

It all depends whether flying Schengen/Non-Schengen on your next flight. There was no interest in my passport at TXL flying to HEL. And the only stamp in my AUS passport after flying through HEL, CDG, VIE, ATH and TXL was the one when I first entered the Schengen zone at HEL (that sets your 3 month limit). The UK passport of Mrs OATEK was even more boring - don't think she got a single stamp!

Thanks Oatek that's true about Schengen and non-Schengen. I was referring to non Schengen travel upon leaving a Schengen zone!

Another interesting tit bit for those with dual passports is exporting goods duty free .......if you entered Schengen on a Schengen passport they won't generally stamp your export docket for Global blue Refund! Even though you are leaving on a Non Schengen passport and leaving the Eurozone. So you can kiss that refund goodbye

I think you might mean EU. Shengen is not customs/tax area it is simply a border/immigration control zone, or rather the absence of border control.
Some EU countries are not in Shengen i.e UK and some non EU countries are in Shengen i.e. Norway.
It makes sense if you have land borders as most people will be crossing by road or rail. It 's just like going from Victoria to NSW whether you are resident or foreigner doesn't matter. If entry is through a limited number of ports then some form of limited control might have advantages to the authorities.

Actually the tax refund is for visitors to the EU the definition of which includes EU citizens who are normally resident overseas.

Entering the EU in the first place my wife (Aussie) has never had problem accompanying me in the EU queue.
I suspect the two queues are more to do with administration and crowd control and nothing to do with immigration laws. Other wise they would not be so flexible.

Yes Peter D you are right ...... I did really mean the EU but thanks for the clarification it helps, my partner who has the EU passport was unable to have the exports stamped ......the German border customs guy said Nien ( no) we could not change his mind what a cop out !

Yes we have had the same in UK. Yes Mr and Mrs OATEK, you should go through together.

Last Sunday at MAN T3, my son on UK passport and me on AU passport, sent to "foreigners" queue. Son too young to line up on his own in UK/EU line.

I was advised lucky that queue was short for both, as you go to back of queue when sent across from UK/EU ðŸ
