What's your favourite pre-meal drink in QF Biz Class?

I usually get a gin and tonic if it's before lunch.

If i'm leaving from SIN airport, then it's a couple of Singapore Slings at the biz lounge coughtail bar, followed by some scotch on the rocks on board.

I love the desert wines Qantas serve. They go very well with the cheese plate.

Inner Circle rum with Dry.

Mmmm. I drank Qantas out of it on one flight!

Second choice would be scotch'n'dry. Maybe a bundy'n'dry or bundy'n'coke if they were low in certain drinks.

Of course my choices also can vary depending on what I had to drink in the lounge (if anything)

When I am travelling first I go with the Gin & Tonic (as they offer Sapphire Gin) , otherwise I stick with a good glass of Cab Sav or Cab Merlot.

Later on in the flight I go with the Glenlivet and a dessert wine after dinner.

Gin and tonic?

I normally drink scotch, beer, baileys, champagne. Well almost anything alcoholic really....

Campari and soda for me, though it often takes a lot of rummaging to find the campari. On one flight, they found some near the end so gave me a minibar-sized bottle to take on my next trip as emergency supplies!

And a bloody mary is a good wake-up drink if I have had a long day.

Always a G&T, with a keen eye on the cart for the Laughing Magpie Shiraz when on QF.....

These answers all suport my view that G&T is the drink of choice on Qantas!

G&T here (even though it often brings about comments such as "What are you, 60?" from my friends and colleagues :D ).

After lunch, I love a glass of Noble One (or any Bortrytis really), which they don't serve in J. :( Luckily they've always offered to fetch me a glass from F. :)

Love a Bailey's on the rocks just before I get ready for a snooze too. :)

..and a beer early on in the flight never goes astray.

(Hmm...that makes me seem like a bit of an alco. When you stretch it out over 13 hours it's really not that much.)

Cheers,
- Febs.

if the champagne is decent i will crack into a fair few of those, before moving over to the white then red with food, then i like the bortrytis with cheese and usually keep going with that instead of port. i knocked over a whole bottle of that on a PER-SYD redeye once, top stuff. cognac to finish off and induce some sleep.

a bloody mary can be very good tho if you are feeling a bit rough.

beer, beer, beer

(rather strange coming from a country boy who grew up in the best wine region in the southern hemisphere.....I'm not biased ;) )

if only they served Jaeger bombs

pre-flight - however I did have a great (well, a couple of great!) caprioska's at the inter QP last time i flew.....there was some promo on for vodka!!! the gal knew how to make the real ones too...with the salt around the rim of the glass!!

Another vote for G&T
And no i am not 60 ;) devide by 2

An unsurprising vote for G&T from me - I bet you would never have guessed ;)

Bubbly is my drink of choice ... although anything really goes.

It depends on circumstance.

Of course, I often go with a neat scotch with a glass of Soda water (Club Soda in the US) or Sparkling Mineral water on the side.

Bubbly typically for me as well - mostly for the novelty of it (the drink as well as flying in J) and the fact that it takes no time to get it.

QF J I will start with Champagne and move to Muscat after the meal.

BA or CX in J I will start with scotch (with 2 cubes of ice) and probably stay with scotch for the meal and then Baileys afterwards.

I took CX from ICN to HKG then HKG to SIN.

I was surprised at how bad the wines in J were on CX when compared to QF.
