Re-qualified last week as Platinum with about 6 months to go and got DSC only offer. Double points would have got me more excited ( though not much) as I don't really have anyone to give partner gold/platinum to (sadly).

Hear your pain, I have over 2500 SC with 7 months still to go. Double SC is not going to change my behaviour, but double points would have!

Well, Mrs Tooner is WP but a long way from re-qualifying, and she got the DSC offer.
I'm also WP but much closer to qualifying (and further from requal date) and got the double points offer.

There's logic there, but it may be from a tortured mind;)

Similar to me - need 100 SC by Sep 14 to requal WP - got double points offer.

Quick question, if I book flexis now flying between those dates.. and change them in a couple of weeks when I know exactly when I can travel, will I still get the DSC? EDIT: Phoned and asked, you get the DSC even if you change the flights after this deal ends, provided it's within the dates. It's what I would have guessed, but have learnt better than to assume. Looks like I'm booking a TBD flexi trip to Cairns then :)

Yep, I phoned the contact centre and got the same answer. You can change the flight details as long as the initial booking was made before the 15/3. I asked for this to be pointed out to me in the T&C text somewhere but although the CSR couldn't point me in the right direction to find this info, he was helpful as they always are. The CSR did go to lengths to assure me though that this was the case and I would get DSC on these flights.
Looks like I'll be lining up the CC full of generic dates for CBR-BNE trips I know I'll have to take but unsure of the exact date. WP for another year...yes please!

Both my wife and I are WP. She received DSC and I received Double points. I could do with the points and my wife could do with the DSC however unfortunately we will both be overseas for the majority of the offer. This trip was already planned from the last DSC promo...

I got the double points offer, just requalified platinum.

This is good for people who plan ahead, the same as the last double credits offer, but again nothing for folks who only book when they know they are going to travel.

Would not the vast majority of people travelling for work only book at short notice?

exactly the case for me - this offer is effectively for flights in May and June with a short time to book them. If you have a regular commute it would fine but my travel is decided about 2-3 weeks in advance and can be anywhere in Australia and many time 2-4 days notice so VAs Offers usually go unused.
What tends to happen however is I book QF during that flying period as I'm annoyed by the inflexibility of the VA offer.:-| So they lose out even more.

VFF Gold, only half way to requal with 3 months to go. Got the Double Points offer.

Hoping there's a SC for reward seats offer coming up soon (similar to last year).

That's my only hope of retaining WP and even then.... it will be struggle.

I miss those HKT-PER-MEL J rewards! :(

Did you try the DSC link posted earlier in the thread? Like you, I only received the points offer via email. I clicked on the link for the double points first & then the DSC link & am now able to do both.

They may be trying to grab more of the self-funded FIFO crowd from Qantas. Since many of these people have set 8/6 rosters and have to self-fund flights from the East coast to their FIFO base in PER, they tend to book their fortnightly return flights at least a month or two (but often more, from what I've seen) in advance.

VA already have a good chunk of this group anyway, but I'm sure they'd be happy to grab a chunk more from QF.

mrpooky.

Doesnt mean both will get paid.

The T&C's would suggest that you're right Markis10. They're pretty clear.

But FWIW, I'm gold and I registered the whole family on both deals, despite being offered only the double points for flights and holidays. Mrs Happy Dude is red and got DSC. When she tried to register via her email link, she was already registered (by me).

That's what I was wondering - it will be interesting to see whether those who have registered via the links provided rather than from the email they received (if they did actually receive one) are "paid out" for both (o any?) offers. I was lucky enough to receive the DSC offer so have only registered via the link in my email and then decided to leave well enough alone!

I received the double points deal, yet my wife(who pools into my account) received DSC. My reasoning for not getting the DSC email was the fact that I took advantage of the last DSC offer which she did not? Anyway, a trip for both of us now booked to Hobart via Melb :)

Have got a trip to HKG soon with VS that will get me 235 points shy of Plat, which with a DSC offer looks tantalizingly close. Is it worth a SC run to move from Gold to Plat?

For domestic: yes if you want access to row 3 at time of booking and/or generally book flexis and would take advantage of the 4 upgrade certificates, but not otherwise
For international: yes if you fly with VA/EY to Europe (and would therefore transit through AUH), but not otherwise

:)
