Seems like only a very small number of members got this offer. Out of curiosity, are any of you up for review dates in the near future or in the last week or so? Could be possibly related.

Still upset, I would kill for double status credits, my company is really cheapskating on the travel budget this financial year.
I achieved WP mid trip to Paris in September, which was great for the extra SC's and bonus points earned on the return, :). But I did not receive this double offer, so maybe for people close to review. I thought the original poster said he had just got WP too?

Just to clarify, the double Status Credits offer in November and December is available to all flybuys members who have linked their flybuys membership to Velocity Frequent Flyer. That is, it is not targeted.

So, are you saying that it is automatically applied? As there is no email and nothing under 'my offers' for me to opt in to and I have already linked and redeemed points.

Nope it's definitely targeted. You need to activate the offer in your "offers" section on the flybuy page. And it's only there if you received the offer. I linked my account on the day the flybuys linkup started, no offer to activate for me. A heap of other people are also not seeing the offer. Pretty frustrating.
We can categorically guarantee that any linked member will receive double Status Credits over the promotion period, whether they received an offer email or not, or whether they activated an offer or not. We're sorry for any confusion caused.

The offer is as follows: From Tue 1 Nov 2016 until Sat 31 Dec 2016 you will get double Status Credits for every $100 spent across Coles, Coles online, Liquorland and First Choice Liquor per calendar month (this can be across multiple transactions). Spend excludes tobacco and tobacco related products, charity donations and gift card purchases. During the promotional period, the nominated linked Velocity member may earn up to a maximum of 20 Velocity Frequent Flyer Status Credits per calendar month. If you're not yet linked, the monthly spend will be calculated from the date you linked.

Thanks for the clarification! Looks like Coles & Liquorland get our spend from now on instead of Woolies & Dan!

According to the OP, there are two double SC offers. One for spending, one for flying. It would appear that the "flying" offer is very targetted. The "spending" one is not exciting.

I got the targeted *flying* double SC
Normally would be super excited about it but already have a Etihad J trip next year for Platinum requal.
I do have about 6 flights yet to be booked and travelled before end of year so whilst they will get double SC, it'll just mean instead of getting about 820 SC to requal for Platinum I'll now be closer to 900 SC before my review date.

Hit Platinum back in July this year, up from Gold.

Can you clarify that you are referring to the double status credits for shopping only, and not the double status credits for flying as well?

Just received the email for double flying credits now! Funny how they come days apart... Maybe there's a second batch on way?
I've got one more work trip to book before our EOY travel freeze, so this will come in v handy!

I received the Flying double status credits offer too.

I'm a expiring Gold (dropping to Silver) member and have no future travel booked.

The 2 SC per $100 at Coles is pretty low, most families/people/couple could make at least 10+ SC per year for $1000+ Spend But you can get that on A $100 flight. It's so low it's hardly worth it. The "partnership" with Coles/Flybuys is about the data.

Same with the BP partnership. The more datapoints that Velocity have on you the easier it is to target marketing directly to you.
The returns for linking your Velocity to Flybuys / BP etc are so low, it's hardly worth the data you give them.

I assumed the DSC for flying was targetted but shopping ws available for all to activate

I beg to differ.140SCs for the next year is not insignificant. People are quite happy to spend $700 or so for an equivalent status run

I disagree also... That status run costs you $100 for 10 SC (which will get more difficult with the devaluation) but the 10SC at coles could cost you essentially nothing if it's money you would have spent on groceries anyway?

I can't imagine getting 10SC at coles at the end of my year to get me across the line for Plat, but can see some additional SC dripfed throughout the year being handy :)

Assuming you have the option of $100 flights - living in Perth, earning SCs is a much more expensive exercise than that, no short cheap "hops" available over here for status runs! The amount of SCs we will earn from shopping we'll be doing at Coles anyway will certainly be of help in getting both of us "over the line" for requalifying.

I received the offer this morning ( im WP and only 300sc and review date July 2017, but future bookings on other carriers will see me retain WP ) and my wife who is currently at 485 SC, (silver and will start dropping points in Feb) also received the offer.
Perfect timing, booked a work trip which would normally net me 65sc, will now give me 130sc. But not really needing them.

Is that from shopping alone? Madness.

it's 12k a year spent at Coles. I think it likely that people can earn more as it's still to be seen if family pooling will apply to multiple household FB accounts.
WIll be interested to see who are the first AFF supermarket PS SG & WP around the 15th Nov

I received both offers. There is no explicit mention that the double SC flights have to be booked through the VA website - only that booking and flying has to occur between those dates and the flights have to be marketed and operated by VA. I'm considering booking through Amex Travel and using some of my travel credit there
