Double Status Credits (book by 5/2/18, fly 12/2/18 to 20/1/19)

All my recent flights have posted double SCs quickly yet last weekend's flights have not posted.

Hard to keep up.
After sending an email at the 6 week mark and getting no response for a week, called up and updated while on the phone...

The weather in SYD and MEL unfortunately caused me to be directly routed to AKL on Friday.

Fascinatingly, I only had to make one call for ORC to be granted. But does anyone know when the DSC for the ORC will be granted?

The double SCs for my Syd - Lhr flight last Mon posted 2 days later :)
...and the double SCs for the return Lhr- Syd flight posted today, also 2 days later.

Almost requalied for Plat again with 1120 SCs gained from this trip :)

I have an Easter weekend booked on the DSC origionally from Mel-BNE-HKG then HKG-SYD-MEL in PE to retain Gold next year, however due to the BNE-HKG leg moving to a 330 and loosing PE I've been moved to MEL-SYD-HKG where a PE seat is available. unfortunately it's the day before which isn't such a big deal but the only bookable connection is giving me 1:25 transit in Sydney. While I know that's possible I was rather hoping for something a bit more relaxing!. My question is if I turn up to MEL early and request to be moved to an earlier flight does this effect the eligibility of the Double Status Promotion? I've got two different answer so far so was hoping the brains trust could help. At least I was able to confirm the flight changes made to this point would not effect DSC (screenshotted for safety!!)

cheers

I still received double status credits for an earlier "go show" flight BNE-SYD (connecting to SYD-CGK) on 20 December 2017 under a previous promotion.

It should be fine and won't effect your subsequent flights. I think the DSC applies to eligible flights take under a specific PNR. As any earlier flight you take will have the same PNR you should get DSCs for that flight too. Worst case scenario just call afterwards.

Can't say for sure but I'm pretty confident I've taken different tag flights on the day but always received SCs and DSCs as appropriate.

Thanks guys! would much rather have some breakfast bubbles in the lounge rather than run though the terminal so trying for an earlier flight seems like the plan :)

Hi there,

I am new to the business of status credits and such. Hoping to slowly trudge my way to Qantas Gold for life. I booked a flight (domestic economy red) which I had to cancel due to illness. I received a voucher with the same code as the initial booking. I have since used the voucher to book international economy sale flight - same code as my original domestic flight.

The questions I have are twofold:
1) Could I expect any DSC on the international flights
2) My return journey is in February (2 weeks after the end period of the promotion) - will I only get DSC on the initial journey and none on the return leg or should I expect it on the return leg due to the fact that my initial journey was within the promotion period?

Thanks again

I assume the original flight was booked during the DSC booking window, and you had registered correctly for the promotion.

There is a chance you will get DSC on your outbound flight given the situation you've described, but it's highly unlikely you will get DSC on the inbound.

If you receive DSC in this situation I would consider it very lucky.

The T&C are very specific about cancelling of flights booked under DSC promo.

I would not expect it tbh but the system is glitchy enough and the same PNR helps, but I reckon they can tell the difference betwene a credit voucher and a booking.

Still, never know :)

6 days later still no DSC for ORC. I called up and asked about it, I was asked to wait 6 weeks. Lets see how this works out in the new year.

ORC is a manual process, the person doing it should have done the DSC at the same time. Did you ask for it when you asked for ORC?

Wait 6 weeks if you're happy to but I highly doubt it will happen automatically.

Status credits, including double status credits are applicable to the time you flew and earned. So even if they post after your anniversary date, they will count toward your previous year.
Just to confirm, as my status anniversary is on 31 May, if I take QF1 on 31 May, both the SYD-SIN and SIN-LHR legs would credit SC and DSC against May (instead of whenever they appear on the account)? Coincidentally it seems that stars for a holiday line up for that calendar time but it's cutting pretty tight to lift my SC's to earn a new status level.

Correct, although be prepared to wait 6-8 weeks for them to credit, so you could be without status for that period.

When I did question about the DSC they said it should be automatically credited. The two other times I called, they've stated that they can't do anything until the 6 weeks have passed. Anything I should do to press them?

When I have been in this situation I've always asked for DSC at the same time as ORC and they were done at the same time. Now that the moment's passed I guess waiting 6 weeks and then hassling them is your only real option.

still no DSC after a week, and i need it to qualify for Gold and StarAlliance status match (to get extra baggage for coming week flight) do i really have to wait 6 weeks to call ?

Flew last Saturday via GF bought on the 1st Feb and no sign of DSC yet.. :-(
