I don’t know about that. Troubles seem to be weighted towards those with GVs, but there are also people with regular up-and-down bookings who are having problems (and intermittent ones - some bookings post and others don’t).

Yep, but you are still referencing this year. My musings were about the future. Maybe, maybe not!

This is the real test:

Has anyone gone 8 weeks after a flight and (a) not had their DSC posted in full, and (b) called the QFF call centre to follow up after the 8 weeks has expired, and (c) been told that they’re not getting the DSC?

And you are really saying Nyah Nyah Nyaaah Nyah with a tongue poking out aren’t you. ;)

And you too! :D

And you are saying “back at ya!” :)

Love it!

I honestly am relieved that I didn’t have any issues and didn’t push the envelope. I only fly QF now when DSC or 50% Offers are on the table, or VA scheduling doesn’t suit my needs.

I need to maintain status with both programs. I have LTS and only 1,500 from LTG (it’ll probably take 3-5 years). I’m VA Gold on the rest of my flying with Family Pooling. I use points to upgrade to J on almost all sectors (apart from BNE/SYD and vv).

I can’t see the value of buying GV’s when I can’t forecast how many sectors I’m going to fly in the eligibility period. I almost had 2 expire from the last Round, flying them in the last week. Too close for comfort.

Agree. Sometimes we make our lives too complicated. But it’s gold when it works. Maybe that’s the way we should look at these in the future with GV; bonus if they work but no drama if they don’t. And if doing a status run then book the actual flight during the promo period which is of course, not always possible.

I had a long hard think last night about my bank account and the DSC GV i have.
With a targeted 50% bonus ending last night i was thinking to book a long weekend trip to CHC and see if i can get both DSC and 50%.

I decided that since i already booked DSC trips during the promo that will get me back to WP I shouldnt do it.
I was toiling with the idea to see if I could get to 2400 SC WP bonus and to give me a good boost to start towards LTG.
My bank account hasnt really recovered from the trips that i booked so i shouldnt make it worse. I would be turning an expensive first 3 months of the year into an expensive 6 months of the year.

Still its enticing and I dont have plans for the long weekend. Is another $2K going to make a difference when you already dropped $10K towards travel this year.

Maybe we can all agree, that regardless of this promos foibles, it does not bode well for the GV work-around into the future?
That could well be the case but hoping the promotion is better organised and everything clear up front.

Not really ;) I wish I could be bothered to go back to reread some of the comments from previous posters who were adamant that DSC would not work on GV because they had inside knowledge. I'm hoping to be LTG by this time next year so won't bother me too much one way or the other but the DSC have helped me quite a lot in the last 3 years

Nah, it was QF WP poking his tongue out. You were just responding saying mmdv  :)

Hooray!!!!! Finally been 6 weeks since my ROM-BNE-TSV flights.

All cleanly booked within the promotion period and with no changes made to the booking.

One of the legs posted the DSC 3 days after the flight yet nothing for the second flight.:(

I suspect I may have to wait another 2 weeks if I'm picking up the vibe of this thread correctly.

And lo and behold, each time I have flown on said flights, the DSC appear within a day or two of the flights. Flawlessly.

Mine too, but the ambiguity of their wording, and changing the t&c's a few days into the promotion, is just garbage.

What makes you think you would have gotten BOTH? I know of nobody who had gotten 2 bonus SC promos applied to the same flight(s).. QF T&C have long been clear on only one promo being applied to eligible flights (just which one you might get is up for debate it seems from recent anecodtes :D )

Happy to be corrected, but I think this is probably a stretch too far in terms of expectation... (if you'd booked) IMHO

I don't think it was an expectation. It was mentioned as an outside chance a number of posts back.

Emailed frequent flyer. Response within 2 hours saying my missing double status credits have been manually added.

Gave it 5 mins and then they were visible in my activity statement.

Frustrating to need to follow up but success in my case.

Also... Interestingly....

I appear to have earnt double status credits and double points on my most recent journey. (Unrelated to my previous post).

I believed only the first registered promotion applied. In this latest example of inconsistency I plan to keep my mouth shut.

It was more of wishful thinking than a certain. It wasnt something i would have counted on if it had taken up the offer. I barely have any confidence my current GV is going to work at this point with all this talk of 6-8 week waits and only one half of flights posting.

Apologies for being off topic but I thought my recent experiences might be of interest.
As I commented further back, my SC's for the loyalty bonus are tracking 290 SC's less than my total. I called Qantas re this on the 19th. I was told only Qantas marketed flights counted and I had 140 SC's from Jetstar in the mix (plus 150 from previous bonuses, making 290). I confirmed on this thread that Jetstar should count and called back on the 20th. This time, I asked the question first, then put my case. On hold for quite a while, then they asked if they could call back. Later in the day they called back and told me they had contacted IT and it was a known issue and please could I e.mail a screen shot. This I did.
Yesterday I received an e.mail from Qantas stating: "The status credits in your account are from accumulated earned from Qantas, Jetstar, and other partner airline flights excluding Loyalty Bonus. For the security of your account, we are unable to discuss your Status Credits via written request."
The e.mail then went on to suggest contacting them via chat or phone to discuss the matter. This I did and was told they had no record of my previous calls and the figures were correct as only Qantas flights counted.......
I'm thinking that this gives a pretty good indication of how efficient their operation is and I'd suggest anyone chasing missing (or part missing) DSC's will need to be persistent. I would also suggest getting a receipt for calls as it's obvious that the system is far from perfect. A call back, plus an e.mail, and yet no notes?!
I was also interested that they could see a security issue in discussing my account in writing, and yet they had requested I send them a screen shot of my account. Something there seems to not add up.
