I reckon they have a twice daily cron job running these promo DSCs into accounts, I've only received them in the morning or at night. I'd say the query or whatever request filtering of the data they're doing that is determining what makes it into the job is probably kinda cough or very specific so it misses things (explains delays or requiring manual intervention)..

cron job. awesome. I speak that language :D

You would assume there is serious auditing being done on the process given the potential cost of benefits being handed out. Heck, even the cost of the tags plus the shiny brochure box thingo that comes out when you first reach a status level would be a big enough dent to not get this wrong.

But we know what "assume" makes.
My thoughts are that it's handled automatically, but not particularly well. There's no need to do it well because if someone doesn't get their DSC's they'll complain. If they don't, well, who cares? If they do complain, it's very carefully scrutinised to ensure no one's playing games.
I was surprised in my recent discussions re missing DSC's, that it had to be referred on for manual intervention. I've had SC issues before, with SC's from Jetstar not appearing and in those instances, I rang in, explained the issue and they sorted it. They could see the problem and fixed it there and then. In this case where I had DSC's from one leg of a flight and not from the other, the problem was very obvious, they could see it, there was nothing in dispute and yet I had to wait eight weeks before they referred it on for manual rectification. Even then it took more than three days.

An update for those following my (first world) saga:

I played call centre bingo again this morning and on my first attempt drew an unfavourable location.

HUCA.

Round 2: AU. Bingo.

The CSR confirmed everything that had been confirmed before and used the now familiar phrase "six to eight weeks".

I repeated the two slightly unusual factors in my case: Firstly that one sector of a four sector PNR had posted; but also that I have a four sector PNR starting on Tuesday and a six to eight week delay would mean I'd miss out on stated benefits.

"I'll check with my supervisor".

Short hold.

I was then told they couldn't manually credit the missing 80SC because the system would apply them eventually and if they're applied twice "it becomes a mess". However, the CSR could see I'd met all the requirements and as a "goodwill gesture the supervisor will manually upgrade your status and the DSC will credit in due course."

Status updated ~20 mins later.:)

I'm delighted to say I've now cracked WP for the first time. Thanks to the AFF brains trust. I'd likely still be PS without you all!

Naturally I'll be keeping an eye that the DSC still appear.

I wonder if I can get into DYKWIA lessons before my Tuesday trip...:D

Great outcome. Just a heads up. Similar situation happened to me last year. As a result, they didnt actually send out a platinum card. I had to chase it up. So keep that in mind if you don't receive one in the mail after a couple of weeks. When they did eventually sent it, they didn't send bag tags. Another follow up got that sorted out.

Houston we have a problem.

I'm on 1040 SCs with an end of May reassessment date. I believe they owe me 90 SCs that have not yet been posted.

Another 10 SCs will post this weekend and then I'll book another 3 flights for 30 SCs to get me to 1080 SCs. They'll then owe me 130 SCs from the double SC promotion that should get me to 1210SCs.

The last flight will be around 18 May. I'm not waiting until 13 July to complain about flights not crediting double SCs as I won't have enough SCs for Platinum without the double SCs

How do I get Qantas to treat this seriously without playing call centre bingo?

My recent situation was the same, though the numbers were different. I was chasing 1400 for first time WP.

Call centre bingo seemed to be my only option, but two things I learnt:
1. They can manually upgrade your status (or maintain in your case) and let the DSC appear later.
2. If they say they’ve sorted it and tell you to wait three to five days, ask them to provide the Service Request number, so you can follow up. It begins with SR and has six digits. Eg SR123456.

Note, I’m yet to confirm the appearance of the DSCs, but I’m not yet at six weeks either.

May I ask whether the flights in question were fully booked and paid for in the promotion period? Yes or no is a more than adequate reply as I'm trying to relate the timings to my recent DSC experiences.

No they weren't.

Given my experience, I doubt they'll do anything until eight weeks has passed. I only had 20 SC's at stake and no particular goal, as WP was achieved, so was pursuing out of interest more than anything else.
Captain Halliday's approach seems your best bet. If you're at 1040, won't you have a 50 SC bonus coming along sometime soon?

The 50 SC bonus is there but I need to be in Sydney another 2 weekends before end of May. I'd rather have the 8,000 points.

My first DSC came through within 3 days. No GV, no changes.

On the 50SC bonus, this year I had to go looking for it. It is there on the status activity page, but no email and no prompt on the main account page. I'm sure I've received both an email and main page prompt for previous bonuses. It's now easy to overlook and allow to expire. Is this a recent change?

I tried my luck with the call centre yesterday for cleaning up a missing segment DSCs on a GV booking, where the other segment had posted. Got the premium line and an NZ agent.

Much as others have stated, they said that even though my T&Cs state 6 weeks, it is really 6 to 8 weeks, and they weren't going to do anything about it until that period ends. I'll try again after that. I don't have the patience for HUACA games with the small numbers involved.

Cheers,
Matt.

Just wondering again how does this 8 weeks wait work when the T & Cs state "may take up to six weeks'

It gives them an extra 2 weeks to deal with the issue. Some of the earlier bookings with gift vouchers would just be past the 8 weeks now.
