Double Status Credits (book by 5/2/18, fly 12/2/18 to 20/1/19)

That's to comply with changes to NSW Fair Trading rules. It wouldn't be a good look or practical to have one expiry for those in NSW and another for everyone else, so everyone benefits.

Many countries have banned expiry dates on gift vouchers altogether so we are not quite there yet...
 
I’m now looking to get MrP to 2400 so I can gift SG to a relative. Was planning on saving the GF for next year (May 1) but used one for booking next week so will have another data point to add.

Mrs GPH reckons that it’s a NZ call centre, and she has had no end of problems dealing with them, to the point where she hangs up and starts again.

If the 2400 is made up of DSCs I seem to recall QF amended to rules back in Jan on loyalty bonus and these changes kicked in mid Mar. I thought the loyalty bonus now works on base SC only or are they still getting through with the DSC.

Can anyone confirm experience with DSCs for the previous status year posting in the new status year but still triggering an upgrade in status without manual intervention by QF.

For example, I was sitting on1320 SC yesterday - which was the final day of my status year. However, I have 80SC due from flights two weeks ago - for which I'm patiently waiting the six weeks stated in T&Cs.

Will the upgrade to WP happen automatically when those DSCs eventually post, or will I have to seek manual intervention?

I would suggest calling QF and asking them the question and see if you can get it manually adjusted given the circumstances.
 
I’ve had that issue before and posted on the forum here and pretty much got told I was doing something wrong. While I’m sorry you had a repeat experience it’s kinda reassuring for my sanity :)

At least 3 out of every 4 calls to the Premium line result in having to HUACA. I keep talking to half wits in NZ who don’t appear to know very much at all. For example telling me that Points & SCs are the same thing. Took 9 weeks and 5 calls to get DSCs from the previous promotion (including 3 promises they were being manually applied. The people I spoke to had not even made notes on my file). Last call I insisted they play back the recordings of my calls on such and such dates. Result: successful 340 SCs and an email confirming my most recent call and successful credit of SCs. You are not alone!

Hopefully my P1 Membership in the next month will give me access to more competent people. Looking after QF accounts & bookings for 9 people is turning my hair grey:mad::confused::eek::(

GPH is WP already, :)
Need about two more years to qualify LTG, then , who knows.

As he has mentioned, GPH is WP (thanks to my planning skills). Not sure about gifting the WP yet ;)

Once we are both LTG, I’ll just start using BFOD in J or F with other airlines. However those DSC offers are pretty addictive:rolleyes:

Well I bought 2 vouchers during the recent promo which were redeemed a week later for travel within the permitted date range for earning DSCs. Both flights were flown two weeks ago. The DSCs for one of the flights credited a day after flying, and the other hasn't credited at all. Oh well - you win some and you lose some.

So I had a flight on 16th Feb with Vouchers and DSC didn't post. Messaged QFF and got email back saying they've now added but because they were in last membership year they wouldn't shown my balance. Checked online and they do show but listed as : STATUS CREDITS IN PREVIOUS YEAR 16FEB18‡

Are you saying QF made this adjustment manually before the 6 weeks stated in the DSC T&Cs?

Friday just gone was 6 weeks so I waited til then to contact them
Wow interesting they told me I have to 8 weeks to get them manually posted. Quoted them that the T&Cs state 6 weeks but they fobbed me off and said that it will be 8 weeks. Has been 6 1/2 weeks and still nothing. It will take me to WP if they can ever get there act together. They tell one customer one thing and thell another customer something very different. This is very inconsistent service.

Given up calling them. The message is 'we have it in your file that you are to ring back in 8 weeks'. I am betting in 8 weeks they will want to email my booking, boarding passess and a copy of the email that i actually registered for the promotion.
 

It’s the only way.....except every single time you’ll be asked the bloody obvious. “Did you register for the promotion”? o_O:eek::rolleyes: Then waste 15 minutes while they check, tell you there’s no record of your registration, talk over you, check again still using the wrong promo dates, assume you’re an idiot who didn’t keep any details or proof...yada yada yada. It gets old when doing it for one flyer. Even worse when looking after other people’s accounts. Sometimes it’s hard to be good at something.
 
im planning to use GV for next month booking, but couldnt find the flight i wanted on the GV redeem page (it doe show up on regular search page) will i still be able to get dsc if i were to book via the call centre ?
