QF Gold, have all boxes ticked. I didn't get the offer which is a shame because I would have used it.

A high value Platinun? Someone who doesn't earn Platinum status with 2 days flying on double SCs and spends ~$2000 to achieve it. Or someone who goes and earns 1,000 SCs on AA YUPs.
...
For mine, that is not completely correct.

I personally believe a "High Value Platinum" as far as Qantas is concerned and in this context is a platinum Frequent Flyer who Qantas believe they can generate significant revenue from.

They may or may not have done any or all of what you indicate.

I agree with kermatu.. it doesn't matter if it's a separate entity that's sending the emails.. it's QF's data and their decision. No outsourced 3rd party like that would make decisions without direction from QF. My own employer, for example, uses a 3rd party to send out marketing email cough.. but that company doesn't make up the content or the schedule or even the address list.

Bottom line is.. QF Loyalty or whoever is making these decisions. either it's essentially random, or they have an algorithm to pick who to target.

Do people think it a little strange that if you register for the double points promotion from the home page of the Qantas website they actually email you a confirmation of the registration. However if you receive the double double email and register through that you don't get an email confirmation of anything. just a little unsettling :(

Same and had actually booked some flights yesterday before I saw this thread.

Registered at least for the double points and then realised as I am flying SIN-LHR, I miss out anyway :(.

The joy of being Bali based so not flying from Oz most times

That is rather interesting indeed....

this has stuff up written all over it the more this goes on :)

Yep. I took screenshots and at least have an email exchange with the P1 team in case there's a problem. While I don't need them I will chase any SCs I do get out of this one.

God I hope this does not stuff up. I booked three J overseas trips :(

oh I think you would be fine but may require a chase up.

My concern is more the lack of a real confirmation (email, or even anything personalised on the confirmation webpage) which means if the owning credits don't post it could be an annoying effort to get them to come through.

Maybe I'm wrong, but we all have experience of similar things in the past.

Hopefully it will be seamless :)

I got +50% SCs for booking between 30 August and 5 September, to fly by 28 December 2017.

I got the same offer (as Silver), so it looks like this is a multi-layered approach (Double SC's + points via email offer, 50% SC's also via email offer and Double points via webpage). I've registered and got a screen shot - now will consider what I buy to take up the offer. The first 2 rules of Fight Club apply ;).

Still have 2 DSC bookings to use by March, so this new offer will be good for my 2017 Q3 & Q4 flights and getting closer to LTG

One for us Plebs in Y (but there are also PE & Business deals).

This goes to show how weird Qantas are on their promos (or really trying to get Melbourne people to use the service via Perth).

A UK to Oz promo.

LHR-PER:

Tue 3 Apr 2018
Fri 29 Jun 2018
Economy Deal
Ends Mon 18 Sep 2017

LHR-PER-MEL (I checked the route):

:confused::confused::confused:

This is quite expected. There is more competition for one stop to MEL than no competition direct non-stop to PER.

Nice. A 50% bonus offer is a lot better than nothing. Will have to hope I get offered something next year.

Looking at the confirmation URL in the emails (initial and follow up) our family received, the URLS are very similar each with a unique string of four alpha-numeric characters near the end of the URL, shown here with $ signs (~dsh$$$$1I2). They most likely use that identifier to link it with your FF number. It also means that the URL is unlikely to be altered than if they just used your FF number in the URL (which could be altered to a different number).

Hadn't thought of that mviy.

Lets see what happens if the PER-LHR is lightly loaded because people balk at the flight time. (discounts or canned and a new "improved" service elsewhere for the dreamliners?).

Some dates a friend would like to book are within the travel dates, but the online booking engine won't allow bookings for the start of September next year. Will QF book these dates if given a call?

ended up making two bookings because I got DSC

needed to go to HK in January for family things from AKL and it turns out that the T-class premium fare isn't too bad at ~ 2100 NZD during peak season. Also books AKL-SYD into I class so total SC haul is 140 each way (280 return, 560 with DSC)
also booked a T class fare to New York for next year for work (also books I class trans tasman) which is very nice for SC earn yay

will actually hit WP for first time after 5 years at SG

QF sets up their pricing to dynamically adjust based on predicted flight loads. As some history of PER-LHR, MEL-PER-LHR flights etc. build up they'll be able to adjust pricing better. If loads are light the sale fare buckets should remain available for longer and QF may do some sales to attract extra demand.

Nope. this is an Amadeus limitation, not the website. They simply can't at this point.

Given the amadeus limitation it did make me wonder that the window for this promo is till 8/9/18 which as of today is outside of what is actually able to be booked. Curious.
