Double dipping in HKG for CX and Qantas Business lounges?

Absolutely possible to visit both lounges, but not sure I'd call it 'double dipping' though.

Qantas always board on the gates near their lounge or between gate 24 to 30, so the walk back from the Pier (at gate 63) makes the lounge visit not attractive even through I had access.
Not always, I had a QF30 this year board at Gate 31 - "The Pier" is closer ... I also consider that gates 27 and higher are either closer and/or more accessible from the Pier than the QP (Less shops and their customers to wind around).

You can absolutely visit as many as your status/class of travel allows.
I spent 6hrs crawling through the CX J and F lounges in December last year. :) I look forward to doing it again next year.

The other day when I was walking back from the Pier to Gate 17 for CX711, the signs for gates 28, 30, 32 and 34 had the Qantas HKG-AU flights listed as the next departures (though the inbound hadn't arrived yet)

The Pier is a 7-10 minute walk, at most. If you are relatively mobile I'd recommend visiting and not letting the supoosed distance put you off. The Pier lounges are superior.

I'm surprised at HKG such a minor airline like QF gets some premium gates! I thought they might be shuffled off to Terminal 2 or down at gates 70/71!!!!! At least in BKK they dump them out the back...........(joking)

HKG T2 isn't a 'real' terminal. It has no gates or arrivals facilities. It just has check in and departure immigration/security. Passengers check in, then use the airside train system to get to the gates.
It is mostly low cost carriers that use T2.

What is considered a "premium" gate at HKG?

i was joking about the infrequency of QF now and getting the low numbered gates, with i think are the premium ones. That's why I suggested T2 for them.

Everytime I get on a B747 they seem to be parked between gate 15 and 19. Has anyone had an experience of a B747 on middle strip?

Mrs Lime is a professional lounge lizard, arrives well before departure and visits as many as she/we can, especially in HKG.

So if your on a QF Business rewards flying Emirates\QF into HK on business ticket can you access the Pier and all the other lounges?

If you are on a Qantas issued award for travel on QF services departing Hong Kong you can access all QF and Cathay lounges. If you are flying Emirates, you cannot as they are not part of oneworld.

If EK is involved with the ex-HKG flight (either operating or marketing), then you'd only be able to use the QF lounge.

If you come into HK on a Cathay Business class REWARDS flight can you access the lounges if departing on an Economy Cathay ticket SAME day?

A reward flight (or paid with cash) makes no difference. It is treated one and the same.

Arriving Cathay business class allows you access to the Cathay Arrival lounge, which is located land-side, after immigration and customs.

Officially - if you are arriving Cathay long-haul (a flight over five hours) and connecting to a Cathay flight short-haul flight (less than five hours) you will have access to Cathay and Qantas the lounges.

Officially - if arriving Cathay long-haul business and departing to Cathay long haul in economy... no access. If you are arriving Cathay business short-haul and connecting to Cathay (short or long haul) - no lounge access. However - if you fall in to either of these two last categories I would try your luck anyway. Unofficially CX allows its own arriving F pax access to F lounges regardless of the onward connecting class of service or length of flight. So they may have something similar for business class.

Specific details of your intended flight would make it easy to determine your access.

By the official rules - no. Arriving business class long haul does not give lounge access before a long haul economy. Worth a try at the lounge though just in case.
