I know I am probably very stupid to have expected it, but when I booked a flight from LAX to FLL on Delta First Class I naturally assumed we would have access to the Delta lounge in LAX. No such luck - they want $50 per pax even when flying first class.
I booked the return with Virgin America on First Class (a highly inflated price) was of course overcome by the look of luxury and their white seats - and once again assuming a First Class lounge access in Fort Lauderdale. Once again no such luck.
Wonder what would happen if Qantas Business Class domestic passengers were refused access to lounges.
Anyway - am I the only one that thought we would be welcomed in lounges or have others been caught the same way.
As we are flying Virgin into the States after a 14 hour flight we were looking forward to freshening up in the Delta lounge. Probably can do without the fresh up and for $100 we can get some great champagne. (would really prefer the shower - but not at $50 each).
