No doubt this is a straightforward question, but I wasn't able to find the answer here or on the QF website.

Later this year my partner and I are heading to Vietnam. We're based in Canberra and will be flying QF to Sydney to connect to CX flights. The QF and CX flights are booked separately (QF flights yet to be booked). My understanding is that Qantas should be able to check us through to Vietnam under the Oneworld agreement. However, I'm curious/concerned as to how this is achieved in this brave new NGCI world, since as far as I can see there's no longer a dedicated domestic to international connection desk at Canberra airport. Do we just waltz up to the premium check in line (we're both Bronze, though I do have QP membership)? Do we have to wrestle with the check in kiosks, even though they won't have our CX booking? Or are we out of luck and just have to check in for the CX flights in Sydney?

Grateful for any experience people have had with this, as I would like to be sure of how much time we need to allow in Sydney on the way out before booking the QF flights.

Qantas will interline, but you're gunna have to speak to a Human Being at CBR!
