Domestic J Lounge Plate O' The Day times?

I'd tend to say the answer is "variable". But I think it is more complex. There do seem to be plates of the day, and the main one around 5 to 6 pm. But I've seen it extend a bit later in Sydney at times. There also seems to be an afternoon plate in Sydney, almost always cheese and biscuits when I've seen it.

If the menus are out better to ask for the plate, rather than wait to be served.

Yes Sydney do a pre-dinner Cheese platter. Literally had one an hour or so ago!

When I was in the MELd J lounge in Jun this year for lunch (yes, I know, far back in the past epoch) there was nothing interesting.
Nothing that had a real big woo/wow factor to it.
No party pies, no pizzas, no hot dog with sauce, no pasta, no S&P squid.
Just that standard curry/stew with rice.
I think that the best lounge would be a lounge time in the QF SYDi/MELi F lounges.

Hi,

Below is an approximate guide of our dining services in the Lounge.

Breakfast plate of the day offered from 6am until consumed
Afternoon plate of the day from 2-5pm
Evening plate of the day from 5pm until consumed
Diner in the business lounge from 4-6pm
coughtail hour in our Business lounge from 5-6pm

Hope that helps :)

Is this article still up to date with regards to 'plate of the day/island dining' times for the Domestic J lounges?

New menu for Qantas Business Lounge, Qantas Club airport lounges - Australian Business Traveller

(6-7 am for breakfast, 5-6 pm for dinner)

Or has the whole thing entered into the 'consistently inconsistent' file?

If it does still happen, what are some current examples of what's offered?

Red Roo, I am delighted to see you out and about (and am of course very grateful for the info.)

I have used my local lounge here in NQ for years now. Haven't seen too many special dishes lately. Maybe I just travel at the wrong time.

Last week I took the lamb curry option, the lamb was tough, bland and almost inedible. So I went for the soup as I was a bit hungry. The soup was cold, not warm, stone cold.

I politely pointed it out to the cook, who acted with surprise, even though the lounge was quite full.

I feel the overall experience has diminished of late since the lounges were handed over to Accor to manage (In my local lounge, anyway). It made me wonder whether Qantas actually audit the offerings in its lounges, which are the front door to its high revenue customers.

I only thought plate of the day was only offered in the business lounge.
