Do you read the inflight magazine? (Market research)

I usually have it read before take off.
Not interested in ads for $20000 watches, jewellery, make up, expensive cars (well I am interested but also realistic).
Dont do crosswords or quizes

Sometimes there are interesting articles and it holds my interest for a while.

What annoys me is most of the time you fly back on the same carrier and have the same magazine again!

I am tempted to say I do read the magazines, and look for advertisements about which I can express my disgust on AFF.

But actually, I do any quiz, and read anything about wine, food, or travel events etc.

I will usually flick through the magazine of an airline I've never flown before. The only ones I look at regularly are the regional airlines like QF link or REX. I find them a bit more interesting with less OTT-advertising. An extra incentive is you often need to have your phone off on these flights when boarding.

I just have a look thru it and read the motoring articles

just a quick browse of the films/entertainment on offer and flip through articles while the other passengers are boarding, but there is little of interest in the articles unless that issue happens to feature a destination I am flying to.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

I usually flick through the inflight magazine. It's also a good distraction for my 11 month old daughter showing her the photos with interesting commentary by my wife keeping daughter happy.

I like the VA inflight magazine with 6 Sudokus. I can usually finish these on an OOL-SYD flight.

I think you might have a biased audience here with a particular interest in all things airlines. I , like a few others, just flick through (if at all), and if on an unfamiliar airline do look at the route map and fleet information. But I'm not sure if looking at route map and fleet is of as much interest to most airline passengers...

I will read any interesting articles - usually not very many - and then have a quick look at the fleet info & route map. I do not read the self promoting articles or "fashion" ones. The magazines appear to be mostly advertising - which is ignored by me.

I'm interested in seeing how/what companies advertise in this medium, so I'll normally have a quick flick through for this reason - occasionally stopping to read if there are any good features (rare). This also depends on what condition the magazine is in by the time I get to it.

I enjoy reading through the inflight magazine. I'm mainly interested in reading about new travel destinations.

Usually don't read the magazine but it can be useful for restricting the recline of the seat in front of you.

I read the magazines. I am not a high frequency flyer but on domestic flights I enjoy flicking through. As mentioned by a few people I find value in the Qantas regional magazine.
Internationally I can usually find something of interest for most airlines-I have become very adept at ignoring the ads

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I flick through them and look at restaurant reviews and travel stories and tech updates and do the puzzles - usually with photograph anything I want to follow up later

Only at the doctor's office or at the airport and very briefly. It is quite good as far as I can tell, but I just don't have time to be a regular reader.

Thank you for all the replies. I wasn't expecting such strong feedback and varied opinions. To be honest the main reason I rarely pick them up is hygiene, but I'm a bit weird like that.

We are exploring advertising options and the frequent flier community is a target market. Our site (still under construction) is <removed> and we are planning on launching on Kickstarter when we have built up some exposure. This website/ forum is also something we are considering.

The product was developed because I (as a frequent flier and engineer) had a need for it. We have built in measures to prevent abuse of this product.
