I am taking a LONE4 in November, and will qualify under the Platinum challenge only a few flights in. Will I get all the benefits of status before I get the card physically in my hands? I am thinking in particular of OW Sapphire reciprocal lounge access when in Europe, and priority boarding :)
I have a friend in California I am visiting who I could get the card sent to, but I will only be there until the 23rd, 15 days after I qualify on the 8th. Can I be sure that AA will have sent it by then? Or maybe they could give me a temporary card at one of their lounges?

ps I think I can qualify with my flights - AA flight numbers count, even if on JL metal, right? I'm on AA5832 and AA5820, which get me >10,000 miles.

As long as they are AA flight numbers then they will count

When you attain status, I would suggest contacting AA and seeing if they will fax you a letter confirming your status that you can show to lounge agents

Also, when your status changes, do remove your number and get it re-added into your bookings ( change on AA, plus if you have travel on BA/QF/LA/IB update with them directly ). This will hopefully then show your status on your boarding passes which will help at some locations, plus will allow you to pre-select seats on any BA sectors you may have
