Hey guys, hopefully a quick one: Myself and a few mates have flights booked SYD-ZQN in July and booked them a month or so ago.
Originally was flight was departing 1005 which I think is NZ832 (DJ8162).
They sent us an email this morning saying that the flight times have changed, and that we'll now be departing at 0700, which is quite a bit earlier.

Looks like they've introduced another flight that day (DJ8010/NZ838) at 0930. One of my mates lives over an hour from the airport and is whinging about needing to get up early. Three of us are on separate PNRs, but travelling together.

Should I bother trying to call someone and see if they will move us to the 0930? (We got a pretty great sale fare at <$400 return so if we just changed it I assume would be up for some hefty fees + flight price difference)

Just wondering. They sent us an email asking us to accept the changes or call them, wondering if anyone had any experience with this in the past.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I would call them and ask to be moved to the 9:30 flight -- seems like a reasonable sort of a request to me.

Thanks guys - the outcome was a good one. All of us were moved to the 9:30.
He did initially try to tell me the 9:30 was full (I assume our original fare class wasn't available?) but didn't resist when I mentioned that there were >4 seats available online, and moved us over.

Maybe a bit worryingly though, I asked my mates for their PNRs and gave them to the rep over the phone and he moved everyone per my request, you'd think maybe they should call each person individually to make sure that's what they actually wanted?
