Yep couldnt get a mixed class revenue fare to work online anywhere, so ended J booking via Amex (to use the $450 Travel Credit) and the Y direct with QF. Didnt want to overnight in the airport so will spend a couple of nights in Auckland before returning.

Reasonably happy that will earn 600SCs in one weekend for $1931 so $3.21/SC (or $2.46/SC if i deduct the travel credit). Thats halfway to requalifying for Platinum.

Still have 3 smaller bookings to make for periods that fall into this window.
I wanted to use my travel credit and book J class on the way to AKL and Y class back to SYD so I called Amex and they booked this for me over the phone

I will only need 400 to retain WP, hence my staus run. Have booked for February, giving me the option to cancel if other “holiday” flights come into play before my 30 June rollover. So content with $4.49 Per sc.

what is the go with AKL being filled with narrow bodies? Can't find any A330s from SYD-AKL

QF145 on 27 May is one example of an A330 - but I agree they are using the 737s on some of the flights which in the past have been A330s

Did anyone else not get the confirmation email on registering for this round of DSCs? I do of course have the screenshot.

If you clicked on the link in the email addresses to you without logging in you only get the redirect to the confirmation page - which has no personalisation on it. I’ve taken the screen shot and I guess it’s time stamped so hopefully will suffice if I strike problems getting the flights recognised

I have done the login then register later on and got an email confirming it - but that’s after I booked a whole series of flights (post the screenshot registration) - hopefully I’m not going to have a long dispute to get the DSCs recognised on my bookings

Can't find another thread, so apologies for being slightly off topic.... but I tried to register for DSC and I get an error message that reads

We're experiencing some problems

We're working on fixing this, please try again now or come back later.

I've tried different browsers, devices, times.... but all to no avail. Don't Qantas want me to get DSC and retain WP? If I don't have any luck, I'll call them tomorrow. :(

Some people are having email issues. Re-entering email in profile has helped some.

I too never seem to get the QF confirmation email from these promotions... I don't think I've ever gotten one. Always done when I'm logged in. I do however always save a PDF of the full CONFIRMATION page that pops up with all the T&Cs listed also. I've never had a problem getting the DSC's posted automatically to my account after flying. Weird. I get ALL other emails from QF for flight tickets, hotel bookings, travel deals, wine promos etc etc.. I also receive the original email from QF telling me about the DSC Promos... but never the Confirmation Emails.

Ha ha... yes this is me too.. I registered on Friday and saved a PDF of the Confirmation page. Made a few DSC bookings today. NOw I read this about the "correct" way to Register and get the email confirmation. What to do... Probably gamble and click the REGISTER link now on the webpage to get the official email. Probably carries more weight down the track if it comes to that. Nothing is ever "simple & uncomplicated" with QFF.

Made a booking return trip to Christchurch business one way return in economy on the way back, procrastinated on the return so ended up economy still end up with keeping Qantas Gold for another year, and keeps me ticking along to Life time Gold.

There is a hotel called Jucy Snooze cheap accommodation in Christchurch which showed up on Qantas hotels but there is also the option for pod style accommodation for $44.

Christchurch I have an activity to do Saturday AM likely catch up with friends for lunch before flying home.

Well short little holiday to HBA (from PER via MEL) in J with MrsDaver6 booked. Both PC so that's 224 SC for 83k points and ~$146 in fines each.

I did not realise until today that only one flight a day between HBA and MEL actually has J.

Does QF1 earn SC for the 2 diff SYD-SIN & SIN-LHR segments or just the 1 segment?

Edit: Trying to figure out which section this flight would come under if booked with Points & PC Status Credit earning table

Look at the table for earn rates under the section that says “East Coast USA/Canada or Europe” - that covers it doesn’t it?
