re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Hi I am in HNL in November and looking to do a SC run staying at the destination for a few days break and then return to HNL...I don't seem to be able to replicate the above on AA or Matrix/Google Flights as more than 6 flights...I am doing something wrong ? will need about 650 SC's TIA

Don't plug every stop in, just main ones like LAX-JFK. Then, let select multi-stop flights for each sector. If using Google flights be sure to select "show x longer or more expensive flights".

To replicate, here's my search query for that on Matrix, note you won't be able to replicate this routing on Google Flights (hence the userscript to book from Matrix):

Did a SC run in J to CGK on the double status credit offer.

have a day free - any suggestions on a further status run within Aisa from CGK?

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Nabbed a J seat, CHC - SYD 17Jul16.
NZD$497 less AUD$33 for P+P = what ever it is, give or take NZD$455 for 80 QF SC.
QF seems to be having a lot of J sales of late.
Am surprised that so close to Jul, next month, they are happy to sell seats for this low a price.
AUD$6.xx per QF SC, one of the lowest I have nabbed.
Anyone else needing to come back on the 737 Jetconnect, and wants the QF SC, this is it.
I didn't have the funds for the DSC a few weeks ago, otherwise, yes, I could have gotten it to AUD$4.xx per QF SC.

Are YUPs/KUPs secretive these days? It has been around 9 years since I looked.

I've been playing around with some routings and managed to get it to just under AUD3/SC without going to Panama or some random Caribbean island.

Is that best that is possible?

There are others way more qualified than me at this but for a trip within mainland USA that's pretty decent.

DL runs are cheaper.

LOL. That may come in handy as well. I need to be able to earn Virgin Gold status without stepping foot on Virgin aircraft and then use that status for lounge access for wife and I when flying SQ.

I'm in the same boat; I was VA Plat, dropped to Gold last year and dropped to Silver as of today :-( It's ashamed I do not travel to the US as much as I used to.

Doesn't VA need a few '~' for status?

Remember your 4 sectors ;)

Remember your 4 sectors ;)
I'm aware of that one little quirk. I wonder if family pooling counts otherwise I can almost tolerate 4 short sectors every year. OOL-SYD-MEL-SYD-OOL same day. ;)

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

family pooled flight don't count for ~ unfortunately. otherwise I'd be platinum now. BIS ~ only.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Much of a 'noob' here, looking at a QF Status run internally in the US... Best I can find is under $2 US... But ITA Matrix won't let me do any routings with more than two stops? Do I have to choose a Multi-City booking or what?

Thanks in advance!

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Hi guys & gals, back on the "going to the USA with the mrs for a status run thinly disguised as a holiday" band wagon in August. The goal is to leave NY having achieved SG (hence I am doing a run to CNS to get my minimum ~). Missed the 2xSC offer :(

Booked so far (for those interested, prices in AUD$):
PER-xMEL-CNS return in M, $940 for 140SC ($6.7/SC)
PER-xSYD-SFO in B,T $1300 for 130SC ($10/SC, 2 for the price of one fare)
SFO-xPHX-LAS in P, $395 for 70SC ($5.64/SC)
LAS-xCLT-LGA in P, $700 for 190SC ($3.68/SC)

By my maths / the QF earn calculator, that has me at 530SC, 170 short of SG, assuming QF credit the economy PER-SYD as PE properly.

Can anyone please suggest an economical run out of NY (preferably LGA) that can be done in a business day? Top of my list so far is LGA-DFW return for 240SC/570USD (2.37) or LGA-MCO 180SC/504USD (2.8)
In my searches there doesn't seem to be much else around the first week of August that can be done as cheaply?
