Just looking at flights on QF website DXB-BNE rt. Checked out J and F fares (the latter weren't a lot more, but no bargains either class). When I checked the fare details the website told me that all these fares were 'discount business for status credit earn'. Even for the most expensive F. Checked the SC earning table and business is still business, and first is still first.

Anyone know the significance of 'discount business' in relation to SCs? Is there another enhancement on the way? And why would a flexible F fare on QF metal only earn SCs for 'discount business'.

Cheers skip

Flights ex overseas often have really poor information in the tables. Probably means nothing. But certainly something to monitor.

Seems like some poor code look up in the interface.

I doubt there would be any change to such I class earn with QFF.

Yes noticed this too yesterday when booking QF codeshare on EK 380 metal SYD AKL. No discount business in the SC table, but should earn full SC.
Maybe a QF website enhancement

Unless you've all just spotted the latest "enhancement" to the FF Programme

It could show as "High Change Fee Business Class" or anything else for all that it matters.

It's the flight number (QF) & booking fare bucket (I) that are important for SC earn.

Yes you are right.
It was interesting that the QF 738 metal SYD AKL flight leaving 1 hour before the EK flight used the usual SC earn at "business class" rate, while the QF code share on EK 380 used the words SC earn at "discount business" rate.

At this stage I can't see any difference in the actual SC earn in the SC table, but maybe some change is planned for these QF code share flights on EK metal, otherwise I don't see why QF would use different wording.
