Hi everyone. Am going to fly from Salt Lake City to Denver and back in one day (departing around 6am, coming back around 3.45pm). Flight time is listed as 90 minutes, so probably around 60 minutes in the air. Delta has a very good $136 return price in economy and $333 return in first class. Aircraft both ways is a CRJ700.
is it worth forking out the extra $200 for first class on this aircraft? Seat pitch is 35" in first on this aircraft, which doesn't bother me, it's more the service. I won't have any luggage, so that is not a factor. There's also no Sky Club in Denver.
Is it worth it? What can I expect food- and service-wise?
Thanks for any help.

I've flowen on a UA regional jet in F from Denver to Rapid City S.D. a few times, and apart from extra space and a few drinks and being able to have carry on with me (not stored in external space, if you're down the back) it's much the same as TT or JQ. $200 can buy a lot of drinks at the end of the day.

Cheers,
Dee.

The driver for me would probably be DJ SC's. 40 each way as apposed to 10 each way for discount Y.

I've flown 1st Class domestically within the states and found it equal to our Qantas domestic business class

The seating is 3 rows of 1 x 2 - 9 seats all up. Wider and more comfortable all up. The min. 40 SC's are nice.

For flights up to two hours your receive a choice of item from a basket such as Peanuts, Twix, Biscoff, Pretzel Crisps, Fruit etc.

All alcoholic beverages are free - they will offer you a pre-departure beverage as well - this can be anything - soda, juice, beer, wine, mixed spirit ...

Also note that any rollaboard will need to be gate checked (small Laptopbags are ok). I did two flights on these Friday:
...

The gate had changed with the delay, so it took a bit to locate the new one. Boarding seemed to have commenced just before I arrived, so I walked up as I was in First Class. I was handed a luggage label and stub and told to attach the label to to my case.

This was a crj900 and with regional jets, most rollaboards are too big to have as carry-on. They have a system where a tag gets attached to the bag which is then left at the end of the airbridge. Handlers then take the bags and load them into the hold of the aircraft, delivering them back to the airbridge upon arrival.

As I headed down the airbridge there was another passenger at the end fiddling with their bag and the tag. On arrival I did the same leaving it in the airbridge and entered the aircraft.

After boarding I was offered a 'pre departure beverage' - I requested a "Club Soda" and sat back to wait.

This was actually about another 25 minutes, followed by another 10 minutes after the door was closed while waiting for several other aircraft to clear the apron.

Then another long taxi - from T5 back around to the northern runways for a departure on 24L.

Service on board was another beverage followed by a selection from a basket of assorted snacks.

The flight was quick through a hazy sky before landing into SFO.

This was a side trip I booked on Delta as I had a 13 hour wait before my onward flight. The first class fare was about $360 round trip. It should earn 80 Velocity SC's. I also got to check out the Delta "Sky Clubs".
On arrival I waited with about 20 other passengers for bags to be unloaded and returned to us in the airbridge - mine was the third last one to be brought up and with that in tow, I headed into the terminal....

Thanks for the replies. Here I was thinking I might get a hot breakfast etc, but I don't see the point of flying F for my 6.45am departure. What I might do is fly Y to DEN for $68 and then F back for $168, making it $235 all up and being able to enjoy a drink or two on the way back.
