Will have to keep a look out then. Got confirmation they have been approved for the card last night, so hopefully they post today/tomorrow. They definitely used my link, which I know since I did the application for them (they love taking the benefits, but don't like doing the actual leg work!!).

Not at all. When churning through other cards and some of the problems you have, it's refreshing that everything is streamlined and dare I say, efficient.

Plus the bonus is that there was a deadline for 31 July, before things got much worse when needing to transfer to SPG/Marriott

Yeah don't think I've ever needed to transfer to SPG because AsiaMiles always worked out to be the better deal according to the conversion rates. If you have something you want to redeem, I'm looking at AAdvantage but for the sake of banking up I think QFF is my style considering I don't spend much.
I think I had a few SPG points 10 years ago and it expired because I never used it. Depends on what you plan to use it for

I'm not so sure of those figures.

The person applying still receives 30K DJ Amex points, the referrer receives 40K (2x standard referral). If a person selects the Platinum, then it is 50K DJ Amex, the referrer still receives 40K.

If you hold the DJ Amex Platinum, the referrer get's 60K (2x standard referral) regardless of whether the person applies for the standard or platinum - the person applying still gets the same amount of points as per what I quoted previously.

I have activated mrs rock & my fathers on the American Express AU : Online Services page in the last few days, but I activated mine over the phone which was painless. So if the web-page doesn't work, I'd suggest ring them and it should be activated within 10mins of being on the phone.

Also, I wasn't able to add the card to an existing AMEX username (must be something to do with it being a specific DJ Amex platform??), so that may have something to do with it you were trying to link it to an existing account.

I'm going to have to call. I enter new card details, enter my log-in details, then get an error/try-again-later message. Tried several devices and browsers over the past 24hrs. I'm wondering: because this is DJ's and a separate rewards scheme, do I need to register a new account instead of logging in with my Amex one?

I couldn't use old accounts, and had to register for new AMEX accounts for myself and and mrs rock with the DJ cards.
