Re: David Jones Amex 30K MR or 22500 QFF bonus signup until 7Oct, instore, $99 annual

Hi can anyone let me know if they applied for a DJs Amex card around the 10th to 13th Jan 2013 and received the 30000 points or 22500 QFF bonus offer.I applied then and have only been given 15000 points.Amex say they have no recollection of the promo,I don't think I was seeing things as two other members of my family also applied on these dates.Very confused?

You may also find that DJs did a credit limit purge.
Mrscove had her limit cut from $20,000 to $5,000 in a non negotiable computer generated sweep.
Then I called and the person who answered the phone told me it was not negotiable........
These folks really need to put the word "crazy" in front of their name.

Happened to me too. From $27K - $5K.

Does she hold other Amex cards? They may look at the total limit.

After I closed my plat charge, they started hitting me with offers to increase the credit limit on my remaining card....

Yes oz_mark Mrscove has a 100k limit on Ultimate, 63k on Westpac Kris,40k on Westpac platinum plus Altitude and now Crazy DJs Amex reduced to 5k.
I am hoping she has more frequent flyer points than cash as we are thinking of giving her a status run shortly seeing she has a Double Status Credits offer.
My limits tend to be higher which has never made sense as our incomes are equal. I cannot even claim to be brighter!

Not complaining.......

I've been a member of DJ Platinum card (QFF) for less then a year so far, but decided to try (it worked!) and change to "membership rewards"..... (see another thread, in regards to DJ cc / AAdvantage).

Just now, happy to inform.....

Just checked my account balance (car service nearly complete, lets hope they accept amex; even with %!) to see what I can spend.....

I've got a BONUS 30,000 MR points (instead of the 22.5k QFF points when I originally joined), just for changing rewards programs!..........

I thought it was strange I got over 30k points from spending at a non major supermarket only 3 days ago! Just logged online now, it's got:

26/07/2013MAXI FOOD ==================
$21.74 21

30,00030,021
Welcome Bonus-016,500
Welcome Bonus-013,500

Sure not complaining!

Re: David Jones Amex 30K MR or 22500 QFF bonus signup until 7Oct, instore, $99 annual

Just remember folks - the DJ MR scheme is _not_ the more widely known _Ascent_ MR scheme. The conversion rates to airline miles is different. Ascent MR generally converts at 1:1 for most airline partners, but DJ's MR requires 2:1 for most if not all. So the 30K sign on points will buy, I believe, 15K Velocity points, versus 22.5K QFF points if you choose the QFF option instead of the DJ MR option ... actual real world value of course depends on each individual.

This is true but I believe the SPG transfer ratio IS the same making SPG transfers a very good option!

This is exactly how I use my DJs AMEX. It is solely used at supermarkets and for petrol. Earning 3 points per dollar, I send the whole lot to SPG every few months. Essentially, when using your AMEX at these businesses, you'll be earning 1.5 SPG points / dollar. Not a bad deal in my books!

Yes, fair enough. I'm firmly in the HH camp myself, and though I have been tempted to go the MR->SPG->airline miles route, the list of airline partners with SPG doesn't really suit me except perhaps for one-off trips.

Just signed up for the card 30,000 membership rewards points or 22,500 QFF points.
Annual fee is $99 but the points is worth $200 so I will be $100 ahead. Will need to make 3 purchases within the 1st month to get the points.
Was approved instantly and given a temporary card.
Free home delivery for items purchased online or orders from other stores.

Re: David Jones Amex 30K MR or 22500 QFF bonus signup until 7Oct, instore, $99 annual

Isn't is 40,000 MR points or 30,000 QF points? That's the card I was looking at?

The 40,000 MR points or 30,000 QF points is the Platinum card $295 annual card fee. Not the one I signed up for, not worth my while.

Re: David Jones Amex 30K MR or 22500 QFF bonus signup until 7Oct, instore, $99 annual

In order to get the 40,000 MR bonus you need to spend 3 times outside of DJ's. But it doesn't say how much. Is there a minimum spend outside DJ's or just any 3 transactions?

Cards arrived within 3 days of application.

Does anyone know if I put the account in credit will I still earn points on transactions? So if my limit is $10,000, and I put the card $10,000 into credit and make a $20,000 transaction will I earn points on the whole $20,000 or just the $10,000 credit limit.

YOU BAD!! (will explain my stupidity! )

Please DON'T even put your account 1 friggin cent in credit! As the DJ amex accounts department 10000000% dislike anything in the form of account credit!

How do I know this? Somehow I managed to put my account in credit, thought nothing of it and made a purchase... ($2k+)......

Rejected......

Rang them up, bla bla bla

Your DJ card is NOT a card where you can put extra cash into and treat it as a debit/savings/rainy day account (ie: spare funds so you don't get rejected if 20c over the transaction limit!).

Bloke said my account was actually SUSPENDED! due to being in credit (them owing me a tiny pinsy cash amount!)...

Spoke to the department dealing with it, changed my account back to "spendable again", and said that you cant have it in credit, its only allowed to be a debt, as it's a credit card, not a savings card (not acual quote)...

Weird thing is, there didn't really seem to be a debt cap on my spending (3k limit, and reached; but available balance says either 3k or 6k quite often!).

(Edit: spelling)
