you'd probably have a hard time finding a cheaper/better value nebbiolo than the BelColle, and that includes the Bosio Barolo that you bought

Not a wine deal, but whisky. If anyone is in the vasinity of Dan's Miami Gold Coast, they have a decent amount on clearance. I was offered an extra 20% off anything on clearance. Pick of the bunch probably the Benriach Smoky 12 at $66

I've been having a super not fun time with Aramex - they managed to break a bottle in my consignment from the Melb St Cellars Adelaide auction. Despite admitting the breakage they are denying liability to pay for it because I used their 'parcel connect' service. Weirdly for a courier business, they claim any breakage using that service is my problem. Glad they didn't smash the lot. I wish I wasn't a lawyer as that may have helped me let it slide, but every lame response they give me just makes me more pissed off. And of course what bottle did they choose - a 2019 clonakilla SV! Aaaargh! Thanks for listening all.

Thanks, any decent wine clearance there? Did you have to ask for the extra 20% off.
Coomera DM has a few wins on clearance, I picked up 2 bottles of Cullen Wilyabrup Cab Merlot on clearance at $20.50. Sounds like drink young style with only 7 months oak

I tried one of the Wente Zinfandels. Pretty ordinary. Not sure it is even worth $5...
I had low-ball expectations but actually found it to be not too shabby. The flavour profile immediately jumps out at you as being from somewhere other than Australia in origin, smokey notes with more savoury than sweet fruit, controlled use of oak, more mid-weight than heavy-weight but otherwise quite a serviceable drop but as usual YMMV 😉

I blew my budget on whisky so didn't look at wine 😫 she just noticed me browsing isle and offered the extra discount on any clearance.

I also thought it was an OK wine. I'd probably pick it as a $15-$20 drinking now wine. Doesn't have a lot of complexity, but enough there to keep you interested. A lot of my mates that don't drink a lot of wine would like it.
