Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

As per usual, JD Cellars Secret Wine a pushover to identify, 1998 Shiraz #563 is: Rochford Wines - Yarra Valley It's been mentioned on the thread before and is reduced to $39.98, doesn't sound too bad at all but I've been working over my line of credit a bit too much of late...

They're falling down! That Rosemount GSM is TWE's standard 'deep discount' prestige wine, it seems - they're always giving the stuff away or discounting it deeply!

(Got my Bunch box today but sans brochure - oh well...)

I had some a few weeks back. I have liked Glen Eldon wines in the past and have had worse for that price. But not amazing. May cellar ok. I think there may be more compelling deals around at this price pt (eg, the Seppelt St Peter's that went on cellardoor for $37 recently).
I just went and checked my stash. 2017 screwcap, no reserve branding and was $20 vs $80rrp.

I have ordered 3 bottles from the Wine Collective and tried one. My impressions were that it is not a very well made wine and lacks balance. It is too extracted/concentrated a bit syrupy and jammy with a bit of the sweetness on the palate. I believe there is a reserve version of this wine that is supposedly better. Here is a pic of the bottle that I received.
Thanks - interesting.
I ordered a few. I'll try one when they arrive.

Does anyone have any clues on this - maybe Xanadu?

But it is the extraordinary vintages — such as 2009 and 2013 — that you’ll want to keep your eyes peeled. That’s when ARPEPE produces its five “cru riserva” wines. They are among the best wines in all of Italy, if not the world.
Bare in mind: if ARPEPE is your first taste of Valtellina, you are starting at the top — they are one of Italy’s top five wineries in my opinion. In fact, they are one of only four producers that I am personally cellaring for multi-decade aging. This is not a commitment I take lightly, but their wines are that captivating to me.
