I think light strike is mostly for white wines in clear bottle. All I know is that the expensive wine I bought from BWS as clearance stock, on multiple occasions has not tasted as I would expect it to. I assume that cellars are dark and cool for a reason.

I am in WA. I have bought a fair bit from BWS with no problem, but I have had a few expensive wines that were not right. Each store is different, but generally the storage rooms do not seem to be the best places to store wine before going on the shelf, especially in hot weather.

Like you said, each store is different.

In my youth, I worked at LL and FC. At both, the bulk of wines were stored in store rooms that would get extremely warm during summer, so much so that we used to leave the loading bay roller doors open almost every day just to get some air flowing through the place.

FC had a premium wine room adjacent to the cool room which was temperature controlled. Most wines that were $50+ would be stored in there, although if we had too much of a particular product, they would be stored in the store room.

Again, this isn't an issue if you're talking about a small store that only orders enough to fill the shelves (which is what typically occurs with a lot of slow moving, premium wines), but as you said, each store is different.

My local BWS gets uninterrupted afternoon sun. While they have spirits which cop the brunt, the wines still get quite a bit of minimally filtered sunlight. I only use this store for a quick pick & sip - no confidence to lay anything down.

I note that cellarone has Jack Mann 2019 @ $85pb and Meschach 2018 @ $116pb both minimum 3 bottle buy. Does this seem like a good price? A quick google search shows these prices are better than suggested by dan's, wine-searcher, VC, vivino prices. Perhaps only BWS clearance is better if you're lucky to get a bottle? Looking back in the forum I see some people picked up Jack for ~$62 and Meschach not long ago for ~$90.
Can we expect similar prices in the next few years taking in to consideration inflation etc ?
Also, how are these wines for quality? Are they highly regarded? Or overrated? Worth cellaring? Thoughts?

I purchased a 6 pack of 2016s for $75 each (less a little cashback). More importantly I tried a bottle and must say was a bit underwhelmed particularly given its $250rrp price tag. So in all honesty $75 is a fair value with a stretch in my books. Perhaps it was too young.
