Coonawarra Trio 'St George' Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

What’s the popular opinion on these? Pyrus used to be one of my favourites, but the past few I’ve tried were really average. Currently have one of each of the Trio from 2013 vintage lying down but not enthusiastic about opening them.

Thanks for the heads up and appreciate the feedback, social skills aren't a forte of mine, and whilst i made an account in November i've been lurking for a lot longer, so it would be more like 2~ or so years without a post :)

I've read common sentiments for these are that they were once much loved and over the past 10-15 years not so much. I don't really know why, but my own experience is that i tried one of their more recent vintages .. (would have been 17, 18, or 19) with a friend and we both really liked it.

I kept a look out for their older stuff and picked up a 12 or 13 vintage which i tried and wasn't super impressed by, i remember it being "ok." so i've got mixed opinions myself. But for 30$, it doesn't seem like a bad price to try.

Edit:: Just editing to clarify some specifics, i just checked and the older vintage i tried was the 2010 Limestone Ridge out of the trio. The newer vintages i tried were the 2018 (all 3) and enjoyed them.

It’s been a while as they say in the classics but I’ve got some valid excuses, finally picking up on a few threads after some time away, had the usual JD Cellars rigmarole in my inbox today for a 2020 Shiraz “First time offered blah blah blah“ with the usual Sam Kim waffle but unusually couldn’t nail it with a search using the review, $70 down to $15, possibly cough but piqued my interest….
